Icicles In August: By Anonymous
Life is full of surprises; it has its ups and downs, good days and bad days, good news and bad news. Sometimes you will have the best day of your life. Let’s say you got a new computer or a new pair shoes. That would be great wouldn’t it?
But a few days after you got that new computer your friend shares a secret or tell a lie to somebody you really like and admire. That would be more of a bad day right? Not only has your faith and trust been shaken in one person, and people in general, but you also have to deal with the problem of stopping the rumors and lies before the spread worldwide. Which sometimes can be very hard? Things would get real cold between you and your friend. You might say that icicles formed around your friendship?
Regardless of what event took place, you don’t have to stay cold. Sure maybe your feelings were hurt and your trust has left you. But what’s lost can be recovered. If you stick to the truth and believe you’ll make it. Think of it like this. You and your friend had a huge fight, and both of you said things that you would regret. You would become angry and cold inside. Deep inside your heart you desperately want to be friends again, but your pride is stopping you. You don’t want to apologize. Well here is a newsflash, SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE! Apologize, even if you think your right. Is one fight going to end a friendship with someone you love? No it shouldn’t.
Then summer arrives. It’s getting to be pretty warm and you really want you hang out with your friend, but you have not yet apologized. Pretty soon the heat of August begins to melt the icicles around your heart. Let the warm air take over your heart. Don’t stay cold and bitter towards someone. Or else you’ll become so cold that you will begin to live out your bitterness. This will lead to your undoing. Don’t let icicles form; never let them cool your heart. Let August warm you, let love wash over you like an avalanche. Love each other. And enjoy the warm summer months.
