A Feeling Of Something Else

Poetry By: Arian
True confessions

About someone I met one day. We knew each other for 2 seconds, and he joked around saying I was his "new best friend".

Open up with a crappy line,
Still reel me in, Put a smile on my face.
Keep those laughs coming,
Silent when it gets too loud, acting innocent.

"Stranger, I'm glad I met you."
My thoughts whisper, longing to be heard.

Another day, pass by with a feeling of something else..
Almost stopped in my tracks.
Turn around, "I have to go".
Smiles back again, I don't even know you.

Glance my way once more,
Am I just imagining things?
Something lingers in the air between us,
Though we speak nothing of it.

Days go by, nothing said to for a while,
The corner of my vision tells me,
I know you're watching me.
Met your gaze, you don't turn away.
Your eyes hold something I've never seen before.

I long to know what it is, that is there.
Something I should know, or something I should fear?
A feeling of something else hangs in the air...
