He Loved Me

Listen to the words I say
I do not speak a lie
I want to take your breath away
Until the day I die

And every time that you get sad
Just let me make you smile
And if things for you turn bad
Run away with me awhile

A gentle girl, a gentle heart
You know I understand
I cannot stand to be apart
So please, come take my hand

And if you do decide to go
Please just tell me why
You know you’ll take a piece of me
I cannot bare to say goodbye.

He Left Me

I took my broken shattered heart
And gave it to my friend
He promised me much better things
Like happiness would never end

He took my sad old broken heart
And helped me make it live
He had my trust to no extent
He had much happiness to give

And every time I saw him smile
My mended heart would beat so loud
I wanted everyone to know
For he had made me proud

But day by day, I must confess
He slowly disappeared
My mended heart would grow so weak
It were just as I had feared

And I began to see these signs
I should have seen before
That he had found another girl
And he was mine, no more

This happened to me once before
And this was all my heart could take
Beat by beat it slowed then stopped,
And alas I felt me break.
