Knight

The sunrises

She is strong, invincible, fearless

She goes through the day with a brave face--

Plowing on so innocently, it's decieving.

Her smiles are contagious

Her laughs are like free candy

She is your best friend,

Your rock, your shoulder to cry on

Your support beams and the arms you can fall into

She is the back of your hand, and every freckle on it

She is a Knight in shining armor

And she might have saved you, once, or twice.

But, come night?

The darkness consumes her.

She is scared, afraid, fragile

Her face is frozen in downcast sorrow

Her plow is broken, and the snow is suffocating

There are no smiles.

No laughs that make you feel great inside.

No one knows who she truly is

--as she sinks

--as tears fall down her face.
