You kissed my mouth in such a way
That told me you would stay the day
A week, a month, you plodded by,
And stole an inch beneath my thigh.
"I'm here for you." You held my hand.
"For only I can understand."
Alone, you'd say, I'd never win
And grabbed an ounce beneath my chin.
'For every loss there is a gain',
A promised land that never came
With every kiss against my lips,
Another pound dropped from my hips.
Oh, how I'd wished you'd go away
Then miss you as you left to play
I'd hate you and feel miles apart
The greatest loss came from my heart.
