That girl/boy you saw:

That girl you saw in the hallway today?

With the smile on her face?

She has depression.

She cries herself to sleep at night because you won't talk to her.

That boy you punched in the shoulder?

He's sad.

He's alone.

He has no one.

You want to help you say?

How. How can you help.

First you can help by paying attention.

That girl who seems like she's perfect,

with the skinniest body,

she's annorexic.

She binges.

She's obsessed with perfection and that's all she wants.

The only reason she exersices is to loose weight.

That boy and girl,

with the cuts on their wrists,

They can't do anything to help it.

It's their way of coping.

Just like your way is running.

They don't have perfection.

But neither do you.

You still are wondering what you can do to help.

I'll give you a hint.

You can notice.

Notice when the smile doesn't get to their eyes completely.

Notice the pain in their eyes.

Because that girl, or boy,

That listens to your every word,

who wishes that for one day,

ONE DAY,

they could have your life.

To escape from theirs and wishes to be normal again.

Because once you have depression,

or anerexia,

you're stuck.

you have no where to turn.

And kids,

listen to what they have to say.

It's not all about you.

Because that girl with depression,

may just want to say something.

That boy with the cuts on his wrists,

may want to tell someone without being judge.

They just want help.

Because that girl with depression,

is

me.
