I've Lost My Brother

By: Micki Jennings

Page 1, Feeling left behind by the one guy I thought would always care for me...my brother.....

Pulled away by four hours

Ripped away from the hugs that held me

Now seen as a pebble amongst towns

Blood made us a team

Alabama stole him away

His dreams don't have a place for a sister

I finally understood this today

Now it's about the next "her"

Blood doesn't hold the tie

My arms wide open and he just walks by

Blood on my arms doesn't make him hear me

Only my knife makes me free

A friend that fought my fears

A guy to wipe away my tears

But those days are gone

Taken by his latest song

I've lost him to one thing or another

I've lost my brother

A car can't drive me far enough

His heart is to long gone

I lost the key that keeps me tough

I sit and wonder what I did wrong

I reach for something that isn't there

Love for me is a dream

He breaks me without a care

We were the perfect team

Blood doesn't hold the tie

My arms wide open and he just walks by

Blood on my arms doesn't make him hear me

Only my knife makes me free

A friend that fought my fears

A guy to wipe away my tears

But those days are gone

Taken by his latest song

I've lost him to one thing or another

I've lost my brother

He sees his future in a line

While I'm stuck in treatment doing time

Throw my love into the street

Not once do my sorrows and your thoughts meet

Think about me

Think about me

I'm here under your words

I'm here going unheard

I'm here.....

Blood doesn't hold the tie

My arms wide open and he just walks by

Blood on my arms doesn't make him hear me

Only my knife makes me free

A friend that fought my fears

A guy to wipe away my tears

But those days are long gone

Taken by his latest song

I've lost him to one thing or another

I've lost my brother
