When I was twenty I purchased a deck of Tarot cards. I had the cards blessed and did some research on the subject. It was not a pleasant experience for me. After seeing what the cards revealed I set them aside. Have not touched them since that day. Some things are better left alone.

I take the deck and make a spread.
Invoke the spirits clear my head.
Lying there staring back at me
are the things I don't want to see.
The cards blessed and so are you.
You have to look, see it through.
Observe the things the cards show.
Some things I don't want to know.
All is darkness there is no light
a curse to have this second sight.
No joy, fame, or great fortune
the cards just reveal misfortune.
Another quick shuffle might remedy
and bring something beside tragedy
Still no different the cards don't lie.
The tarot cards say someone will die.
Those parlor tricks gone so awry
slight of hand or prophesy's eye.
Don't want to read them anymore.
It's best to be dumb like before.
When did it stop being a game?
The cards always fall the same.
Ignorance is bliss or so they say
so I'll put my tarot cards away.
