Life's Survival Guide,
Rule #1 -
The world doesn't work in mysterious ways.
Everything around us functions so smoothly
Due to the intertwinement of opposing forces,
Or natural opposites.
For example, when I am kind -
The sweetest, sugarcoated piece of delicious pie -
I receive absolutely no respect.
My kindness is reciprocated by its opposite,
The entity that works in conjunction
With kindness to maintain the Earth.
I obtain bouts of insolence.
This is why floundering around on this planet
All nice and kind to others
Expecting respect in return is foolish.
The people around you will take you for granted,
Treat you like dirt,
Metaphorically drive their cars over you,
Reverse on top of you,
And then drive over you again.
Now, the very instant you make a 180
And become the biggest bitch
They've ever come to know,
These people will treat you with all the deserved kindness
And dignity you sought so desperately before.
Other examples of opposites are around us wherever we look.
The darkness of the night
Illuminates the light the moon expels.
If I were to go astray after a left turn,
To return to my path, I would simply turn right.
For every question, there is an answer;
For ever answer, there is a question.
The most significant example of opposing forces
Is life versus death.
To live life, one must avoid death.
