Sweet things never stay
Many things are like
Sugar in rain
They taste and feel so good
When they're close to our hearts
Then when they fall
Through our fingers
Like sand, and they all fall away
But some times we have to say goodbye
So we can spread our feeble wings and fly
No matter what people say--
Its always okay to cry
The loneliness envelopes our minds
And our souls fill with pain
It tears our self esteem
But remember, my child
Things aren't always what they seem
You have to get past
Before you can look back
Can you really see behind?
And not look before?
Guilt and anger are a devastating lure
Keep your head up
And hear me say
Wipe those tears, baby girl
Its gonna be okay
A guy has two places
To share his brain
Sorry guys, your just that way
They get confused
When they get all visual
And they make us feel
All inadequate and defiled
But don't let your spaghetti minds
Get twisted in the mime of his love for you
Look in a mirror
And see not a kitten,
But a lion
Majestic and clever
Beautiful and elegant
See an amazing girl
Who's better than him
You don't have to let him win
Let him suffer, let him cry
He is the one that said goodbye
Remember my daughter
Love is like cotton candy
You get one taste
Then it will always
Melt away
