My Confusion, My Butterfly

Poetry By: TheNightmareNobody
True confessions

It doesn't take much to shatter an already cracked glass smile...

Tender moment, butterfly kiss

Strengthens the bond between us

Oh body! Oh heart! My sweet nirvana

Why do you hide from me now?

There's a promise in our sweat

A whispered oath, a breathless cry

A mercy sweet, ever unyielding

Why do you hide from me now?

I told you all, from scars to child,

Poured my soul into your palm,

And yet, as yet, your secret stays

Why do you hide from me now?

Am I not to be trusted?

Is my corruption so great?

Did I lose your trust to the blade?

Why do you hide from me now?

I've broken my promise; I bleed once more

The knife turns red with betrayal

To see you turn away in secrecy

Was I not worthy of your trust?

Why do you hide from me now?
