If you are reading this, it means you have stumbled upon my profile. It's ok. The hardest part is over. Now all you need to do is read some of my pieces. :-) Don't be shy...they don't bite.
I have been writing for as long as I can remember. It was always a hobby of mine. It wasn't until recently that I decided to persue it as a career. I am only just beginning and have a long way to travel. I enjoy reading also and if you leave a comment on my profile suggesting one of your pieces I will be more than happy to read it time permitting. I say time permitting, because I am also juggling the household and my 3 adorable children. 11, 5 and 2 months old.
My hobbies, aside from the obvious are cooking (I consider it an art form), anything arts and craftsy (is that a word?) including knitting, crocheting, spending time with my family (they are the most important thing to me) and watching my favourite TV shows and movies. I love Game of Thones, True Blood, Grimm, Under the Dome, Supernatural, stuff like that. Based on this you could probably tell what genre is my favourite, however I will read anything; once again, time permitting.
I have a diploma in Information Technology and I am also considering a creative writing course with the College of Journalism to refine my skills and learn a few new techniques. As an aspiring writer I take my work very seriously and my goal is to have at least one published novel within five years. I hope I can forfil this.
I also love comments, but only if you feel like my piece deserves one. Well, scratch that. I accept positive comments as well as constructive criticism. I will also do the same for you, if you wish. All you need to do is ask me. If I don't get around to it straight away, I sincerely apologise...but bare with me, as I was never in the circus so my juggling skills aren't all that brilliant. (Har har). I really enjoy giving reviews but I will be honest so if you expect every comment to be, "Oh, I love it. Great work", then you may be disappointed. Though I do have tact and I consider constructive criticism to be so valuable and I will give advice and/or examples where possible. Mind you, these will only be my opinions and at the end of the day, you can take it or leave it.
A little more about me. Hmmm, let's see. I am 31 years old (eeek! gasp) although apparently you are only as old as the person you feel, and my partner is 28 so that makes me 3 years younger. If you are younger than 18 please forget that you read that previous line. Tsk, tsk.
I am from Brisbane, Australia. I love to listen to music while I type, although I have been caught typing the song lyrics accidently whilst trying to write a short story or novel. I can multitask pretty well, but sometimes I get lost in the song (singing along) and well, it happens. Don't judge. :P I have a very eclectic taste for music and will listen to mostly anything and everything depending on my mood, time of day, season, etc.
I have several animals. A dog named Lady, rats and mice (partner breeds them), several pythons (partner breeds those too) and a bristlenosed catfish. There use to be goldfish in there too, but last time I did a water change, my prego brain betrayed me and I forgot to condition the water. I woke up to a fishtank of death, but the bristlenose...well he is a fighter. Hardy little sucker to say the least. Pun intended.
My 11 year old daughter also writes. She is actually in a small group of students from the school she attends doing an extension program for creative writing by University lecturers. Mum is SO proud. We wrote a short story together titled, The Tears of Blood. Please, do be a dear and check it out. RIGHT NOW! Ok, ok...time permitting. :-) Seriously though, we are so proud of that piece and we are hungry for all feedback.
We would like some fans (and not just because it's bloody hot in sunny Queensland), but like actual fans, but ONLY if you like my writing, or even think I have potential and want to read more. :-)
Remember when I said I crochet? Yeah well I make these sort of things for fun...
This is my group on facebook for my completed designs and works in progress:
Also. I have just read Criss Sole's Autobiography titled, The things he Shattered. It is the first full novel I have read on Booksie and I highly recommend it. Please do head over to her page and read it. It is brilliantly written and such a powerfully moving true story. The link is below:
Some other novels I am currently reading are as follows:
I will still take all requests, however - due to the amount of novels I am currently reading, I may not read the whole thing; probably just a chapter or two for the purpose of a review. (Unless I really love it, then I will make a note of it for future reference and read it once I have finished some of the above novels. All of which come highly recommended by the way.)
Also, I am looking for an artist to create the cover for my novel, The Fire Within (when I publish it). The pictures along with my works I found using google. I do not own the pics. I am also looking for a few people to compose a book of short stories together and perhaps get it published if possible. Enquire in the comments section.

So I guess that's about it for now. I will bid you adieu and hopefully we can build on our Booksie friendships, fan bases, etc together. Happy writing everyone! :-)
