An unhealthy obsession with time

My name is Victor Palmer, 34 years old, Part-Time Student, Part Time Laborer, Short Story Writer. Just to try and feel my way around the site, I posted a couple of school essays (for a test run) and they formatted all wrong and am having trouble getting them to delete. I guess I should read around all the instructions first :)

I mainly write a lot of speculative type fiction. My biggest influences are Cormac McCarthy, William Faulkner, and Harlan Ellison. A lot of my stuff has a bit of a Southern Gothic type feel to it ( or at least, that is the effect that I am going for). I was born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, but currently reside in Memphis, TN. I have two novels that I have been attempting to write for over a year. But, work and school and writer's block has been getting in my way.

Thus far, I am starting out with some of my older short stories and possibly working my way up, depending on how this goes.
