          Nuclear weapons are necessary for the defense of the United States. Nuclear weapons have many benefits in many areas. Many argue whether nuclear power is helpful or harmful. The following facts will persuade you that it is necessary! It’s important that people wake up and realize that nuclear weapons have meant a lot to our security.

 A nuclear arsenal is needed to prevent biological threats to the United States. The Soviet Union actually threatened us during the Cold war. The only things that kept them from ultimately obliterating us was the fact that we had nuclear weapons and hydrogen bombs. America's enemies refuse to target the United States or its friends with biological or chemical weapons because they are afraid that American leaders will retaliate by dropping nuclear warheads on their countries. People say that to have nuclear weapons encourages people to have nuclear power within their           country. To have nuclear power isn’t bad; in fact, nuclear power may soon be used to create safe, clean electricity.

 If the United States has nuclear weapons then it will be able to deter nuclear threats to America and allies. To not have nuclear power and be a huge country that many are jealous of would be catastrophic. Russia and Korea would bomb America until there was nothing left to bomb. A nuclear-armed North Korea could trigger an arms race in East Asia. Many others say that to have nuclear weapons will cause destruction within the world. This is completely untrue, because there are many other weapons, such as AK47 and missiles that are not nuclear that could affect people. Also, if there were no nuclear weapons then people would invent something even worse with nothing to stop it and then America would be no more. In addition, in the event that the United States is threatened it has the power to nullify the threat with nuclear power.

To have nuclear weapons in the United States will only benefit America. It protects America, will soon supply the world with electricity, keeps America ahead, and gives America ultimate power. Nuclear weapons will forever help the United States.
