Bullets flying, people dying. Just a typical day in Iraq. In this place its kill or be killed. Its sad but there's no other way to put it. You don't understand what its like to see so many people on the ground dead. Especially your best friends. Iv seen this, my comrades, my family laying dead. I should have been there to help them but my commander held our troop back two days. I saw my best friend Michael lifeless blue with his blood surrounding him. I fell to my knees, my face soaked in tears, just to hold my friend one more time.

"Towns! Lets get out of here before we get ambushed." Officer Finch commanded.

As our troop was leaving we heard a gunshot ring out to the right of us. The shot came from an Iraqi soldier who wasn't alone. In fact he came with three hundred troops. We all assumed our battle positions as we waited for the enemy to get closer. The silence was eerier. Needless to say we were all scared. Finally I herd a battle cry come from our commander as he charged the Iraqis. We all followed him yelling at the top of ourlungs attempting to intimidate our opponents. This stadegy failed miserably as the looks in our opponents faces refused to change. When we got closer we shot but it was no match to their weaponry as they fired at us nonstop. I was the last man standing and even though I fought with all my heart, after a had killed about ten men I was shot in the leg. I tried to continue on but then I got light headed and fell to the ground. I remember my thought process. 'This is it, I'm dead. I let down my family.' I It wasn't long before I had blacked out.................

I awoke to a bright light shinning into my eyes. 'Am I alive? Where am I?'

"You scared us Mr. Towns. Don't you know you're not supposed to fight an army with just yourself as protection?" The voice sounded familiar but I couldn't see his face because my eyes were blurry. When my eyes adjusted I relized it was the medical doctor from our camp. I had come to see him a few days ago due to a major migrain. "Get some sleep. you deserve it." As soon as he said that i closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
