JD Caldwell’s
Prologue:
Most people think lasers are a part of bad science fiction movie. The reality is there real, but no one thought of them of a hazard. Scientist find new and innovative was to use them. They don’t see them ass a threat, truth is no one has used the in a threatening matter, at least not yet…
In the late 20th century lasers were founded. First in simple thing, then more complex, using them to cut through objects.
2011: Nobody knows how, but a scientist by the name of Fredrick Dorso, figured out how to transport things using lasers.
2017: The government successfully transported a car to the moon; they called it the Laser Pointer 1000. The laser would demolecurilize something, then put it back together.
2021: People demanded these as home appliances, but the government thought they were too dangerous. Citizens of the US soon changed their minds. The government tried to send a man to the moon using the laser, lets just say he was half on the moon, and half somewhere else.
2023: They started on the Laser Pointer 2000. This laser was going to shoot a camera to Mars.
2027: Doomsday. All hell breaks lose…they tried to send the cameras to Mars, but the laser wasn’t powerful enough. Therefore the laser beam got stuck in our atmosphere and reverberated back down to Earth, demolishing 90% of all building, 60% of all wildlife, and 75% of the world’s population. The survivors migrated to military bases for protection; problem was they were empty, of people anyway. Apparently the government made Laser Guns for the military, yes guns. Now what was left of the world took these guns, and used them against others. Most of the survivors stayed in small groups of three to seven, killing off anyone they ran into.
2030:A small military was formed of about 12,000 men, lead by former senator, Jonathan Maverick. The few Americans who disobeyed this small newly formed government (nearly eighty percent of them) were called Renegades. Then countries all over the world banded together as one to kill all Americans for bringing this plague upon them. The Renegades called the United States of America, DSSA, which stood for Divided States and Separation of America.
2032: Now…
Chapter 1:
Rude Awakenings
Hannibal F. Johansson III lies in his cot as he hears the pitter-patter of feet on the hard metal floor. Suddenly a siren went off, and flashing red lights. Hannibal jumped out of his cot, slipped on his brown-camouflage pants, and black short sleeved shirt, then laced up his knee high steel-toed boots. The last thing he did was slip on his leather fingerless cloves. Most the other guys called him “gay” for wearing them but they were his good luck charm, he only took them of to sleep. It isn’t that weird everyone here has a good luck charm, a hat, bandanna, or even a lucky rabbits foot. He slipped over his metal body armor. He clocked in at three minites and nineteen seconds.
He grabbed his Laser Plasma Rifle, and Laser Pistol. He holsters his pistol. And ran through a big metal door. Where his General stood with twenty other soldiers. “Alright men, more then a dozen renegades heading this what, one big-rig, and several dogs.” General Jack Shepard informed. The General was a tall man, about 47, grays hair and mustache. The General earlier confined in Hannibal telling him he had lost his whole family on Doomsday.
One soldier spoke up, “Dogs, sir,” it was Hannibal’s close friend Sgt. Bruce Billson, “Hey Hann, sounds like fun,” Billson winked at Hannibal. Billson was a good sniper, “alright men you heard him positions.”
“Alright men give them Hell,” the General shouted.
The whole world was a dessert so they didn’t have much cover outside their small warehouse house they found, one of the few building intact. The sky was always dark, with a red hazy look. There were a few boulders the soldiers hide behind for cover. All the guns they used were laser guns, because there more accurate, longer range, and burn through nearly anything, except a metal called, Kraze, made by cooled lasers. Which they made their body armor out of. The laser beams shot out of the guns were either red, orange, blue, depending on how hot it is. Orange being used in pistols, and the coldest. Red in most Semi-Auto machine guns, and shotguns. Blue, the hottest, used in snipers, chain-guns, and rocket launchers. On the side of the gun, it has a letter (O, R, or B) meaning how hot it is, followed by the number of laser beams fired per thirty seconds. For example Hannibal’s assault rifle is a R-45, or Billson’s Sniper is a B-13, it’s sounds like a bad bingo game, I know.
Hann hide behind a big boulder, with a big black guy, Marcus Albert Cornell, but every called him Mac. Mac had a big chain-gun, B-125. Mac stepped out from behind the boulder letting his gun explode with fiery blue beams. He took down two or three before retreating back behind the boulder, to reload. Hann poked his head around the boulder and started firing. He took down one, and then his gun jammed (these laser guns tend to do that every once in awhile) a big man ran toward Hann with a knife, Hann tried his best to un-jam his gun. The man was two feet away when a blue beam hit his head snapping it back.
Hann turned around, “Nice shot, Bill.” Billson gave him thumbs up, then pulled out his pistol and ran up to Hann.
“Here take this for now, till you fix your gun.” Hann accepted and continued firing, Billson stood beside Mac. Hann heard a noise, it sounded like a helicopter.
The General called it, he grabbed a rocket launcher. “Helicopter, 9:00,” the General claimed. Sure enough to their left was a helicopter. A missile was released from it. The General shouted, “Take cover.” All of a sudden the warehouse blew up sending Hann flying threw the air.
