Walking out of work after another long day, Naomi dreads going home as another night of isolation and impending threat beckons her. She turns, hoping to catch sight of Jack but sees his car already leaving the lot. Sighing, her next stop is her car as she jumps in quickly, locking the doors as soon as she sits.

Numerous thoughts run through her mind as she stares blankly through her windscreen. Something catches the corner of her eye; a shadow, a flicker of movement. Her head jerks round as she spots a crow taking off and flying away in a flutter of wings.

Her heart feels as if it is about to smash through her ribs, she takes a deep calming breath, then another, her heartrate slows and she starts the car engine.

The drive home passes by in a blur as houses turn into shops; shops turn into cornfields; and cornfields back into houses. Pulling into her driveway she gets out quickly and goes straight for the front door, locking the car and arming the alarm as she goes.

"Loopy, come here darling."

The black backed, white bellied mungrel slinks into the main hallway with her head hung low and her tail wagging warily. She stops just short of Naomi and looks up with her big brown eyes.

"Ok," Naomi says sternly. "what have you done this time?"

Woof, Loopy barks in reply, feathers blasting out of her mouth and slowly floating to the floor.

Naomi tilts her head. "If it's my stuffed toys again, I swear, I'm getting a cat."

Loopy tilts her head too and growls menacingly - Naomi laughs.

"Silly dog!"

Just then, her house phone rings. Still smiling, she wanders over to it and picks up the receiver.

"Hi."

"I told you I'd be back," the soft, southern accent does nothing to detract from the menacing undertones, Naomi tenses up. "You really should muzzle that mutt of yours. Never understood why you kept such a horrible thing. It should be put down."

Naomi's face tightens at the words. Loopy nuzzles her cold nose against her master's leg, her tail still, ears pricked. A low growl rumbles from her throat as she senses something just isn't right.

Staying silent, Naomi leaves the phone on the table and walks away, Loopy following. Straight into the bedroom where she strips off her work clothes and throws on her running clothes.

"What do you think Loopy, a nice long run to clear our heads," the dog licks her lips and wags her tail excitedly before darting off to prance around in circles at the front door.

Walking out the front door, Naomi ties Loopy's leash round her waist and starts her jog, the dog running alongside.

A combination of music, fresh air and the exercise has Naomi's thoughts calming down again as she pounds the pavement. Loopy, makes it virtually impossible to keep an even pace as she just wants to play with and sniff everything she sees. The extending belt leash makes things easier but still Loopy runs around from side to side, behind, around again and Naomi has to twist and turn to avoid getting tangled in the lead.

They reach the park and Naomi lets Loopy off the tether, the dog darting off into the distance to explore. Moments later she returns with a stick, her master continues to walk around the open area with a brisk pace. Occasionally stopping to pick up a stick and throw it for Loopy.

"I don't think you quite understand the concept of "fetch", do you?" she asks, ruffling Loopy's head between her hands.

The dog tilts her head to the right, which Naomi is sure is the dog equivalent of "WTF?", and her tongue hangs out as her tail once again goes into wagging overdrive.

"...You know you're supposed to bring back the same stick, not a different one everytime?" she tries not to laugh at the dog who continually lives up to the name she was given.

Loopy tilts her head to the left - I assume that means "just throw the fucking stick", Naomi thinks with a chuckle out loud as she draws back her arm and slings it forward, releasing the stick and Loopy takes off in pursuit and disappears into some bushes.

Naomi rolls her eyes; no doubt she'll return with a branch this time.

Continuing to walk along, listening to her MP3 player, thoughts of her ex - now her stalker - flow through her mind. She wonders how she could have missed this side to him, we were engaged for crying out loud. Why didn't I see it?

She pushes the thoughts away as she approaches and passes another stand of bushes, an arm reaches round her midriff as another grabs and covers her mouth as she is lifted - easily - and pulled backwards towards the clump of bushes.

Panic explodes throughout Naomi's mind, causing her coherent thoughts to begin shutting down. Survival instinct takes over, as deep down, she knows, it's game over for her if they get her to into the bushes.

She kicks backwards, trying to hit her attacker. He chuckles and Naomi's blood runs cold; I know that laugh. A shudder of mind-numbing terror ripples its way through her entire body as time seems to slow down. Tears begin to flow.

Biting down on his hand she sucks in air. "Help!" Naomi screams for all she is worth, until his giant's hand clamps over her mouth - silencing her.

"That, my darlen, was not a smart move. Now, I see I'm going to have to teach you a lesson."

Naomi whimpers and redoubles her efforts to get free. Her tears are continuous, now that she sees they have reached the cover of the bushes.

He throws her down, she tries to stand and feels something slam into her stomach, robbing her of air and knocking her off her feet.

"Connor, please," she tries to say, only a croak escapes her lips.

I can't breathe, I can't breathe, I am going to die, her mind screams.

She feels her shorts being pulled down. "Mmmm, look at that, you always did have the nicest ass I've ever seen," the deep, softly spoken words scare her all the more.

Naomi tries to struggle - a fist crashes into the back of her skull. Her minds reels from the impact, disoriented, she stops struggling as she tries to remember what is going on. A tearing feeling comes next, her underwear is torn clean off her and her assailant pulls her ass towards him, presenting her intimate places to him.

Naomi knows she has to fight, but her wits are still scrambled by the blow. She recognises the sound of a belt buckle being undone and her eyes widen.

Feeling his breath on the back of her neck, Naomi cries, she is exhausted.

"Ok bitch, you are going to be mine, and I'm about to rip your ass in two. This will not be pleasant. I will not be gentle. You will not enjoy it, bu' you will learn, one way or another, that you will always be my girl."

He fumbles around behind her and Naomi feels him press against her entrance as his sheer size holds her down easily. She braces herself and prepares - as best she can - to be violated.
