THE FINAL QUEST
In a dark and deserted alley
a homeless man is turning in
Between the walls of a cardboard box
thats been a home to Private Quin
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
He hides his scars behind fatique
a result of our country's gain
Alone he fights an endless battle
of his dignity and his pain
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
What is left for Private Quin
who's blood he proudly gave
Has his battle just begun
or does he lie within his grave
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
Is there no place for such a man
who unselfishly gave his all
Who fought beside other men
just to watch them fall
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
Will his war ever end
is it even worth fighting for
Has many died for nothings worth
Is there no peace any more
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
How does a soldier end up this way
in the streets of endless stares
Where no one ever really wins
where no one even cares
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
Its too late for Private Quin
but behind him theres many more
How much blood will it take
to open up your door
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere in an unmarked grave
a soldier finally rests
As Private Quin surrendered life
and fights his final quest
~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
