Did a camp (2 months in the Army) in 1987 and we were posted to an area (Waterfall, KZN) where there was basically a civil war going on between two groups: Inkatha (IFP) and the African National Congress (ANC).
When I got out, no-one would believe me, even though we were hauling out bodies in the aftermath by the score.
This poem was my reaction to the experience.
