“War”
Over the lost and restless,
Have a thousand souls been lost.
All have died by a pointless cost,
None of the deaths have been painless
I am stuck here in this alien place,
All of my friends are either lost or dead.
I try to hide from the firing above my head,
I trip in fear, but realize it is only my shoe lace.
All around me, bodies lay flat,
Fear overwhelms me as I run past.
Anger builds inside me fast,
As I see a friend spread out like a bat.
Let the war end, I say!
Before my anger goes beyond the top!
They refuse; enough trouble to mop,
But as long as anger is here, the war will stay…
