I was told to do a homework for a poem I am studying. The poem I am studying is called Disabled by Wilfred Owen. It is about a young man who was loved by everyone but he went to the war and came back with no legs and now no one gives him the time of day. I had to write a poem from one of his friends prospective of him before and after the war. So I thought I would share it.

Before the war there was a man that everyone wanted to be like,
He was strong, fearless and the most adored.
Now he sits in a wheeled chair all alone in his room
He is legless, armless and lonely.
He used to have girls at his feet in a flash.
He used to brag about his family and money.
But that was the old and calm times
BANG his legs, gone
BOOM his arm, gone.
DOWN his old life, gone.
I envied the boy I once knew the one everyone adored, loved and cared for.
I was lucky enough to be his friend but all that is lost.
Now I am him the man he used to be.
Girls at my feet, me bragging and him sitting alone tears rolling down his face
COLOUR gone
LIFE gone
EVERYONE gone
It pains me to see him like this and it rips at my heart to thinks about it.
The war has punished him and took all he lives for away.
Now he is lonely, not loved and disabled.
