Dutifully trying, gracefully dying,
Steeped in glory?
Once more unto the breach.

Smart in rank, Alert on flank,
Forward in honour?
Once more unto the breach.
~
Colours fly, battle cry,
Soon to be heroes?
Once more unto the breach.
~
Drenched in mud, drunk with blood,
Force of victory?
Slaughtered in the breach.
