He Awakens At Dawn

To The Sound Of Thunder

To The Sound Of Tyranny

But He Does Not Cower

He Runs Toward The Sounds Of Chaos

And Strikes Down The Evil

When No One Else Can

The soldier looked up into the dark, orange sky and prayed. Bombs exploded all around him. The distinct sound of trees ripping out of the blood soaked soil filled the air.

Bullets began to whistle past the soldier's head, but still he stood in prayer looking up into the sky.

"God give me the strength to move on, to carry out the task that you have given me," He said, "Lay me out a map to follow, and I shall be strong and courageous, I will not be terrified or discouraged; for the Lord, my God is with me wherever I go. Amen"

With Bullets still whizzing past him, the soldier knelt down, slung his rifle around his shoulder, and scooped up some of the dry, sandy earth that now seemed to cover most of the planet. He shifted and moved the dirt around in his hand so that it slowly fell out from in between his fingers. Then he stood up, weapon in hand, ready to fight once more.
