It was the first day of my freshman year at Fonda-Fultonville High school, or FFHS. And as if that wasn’t nerve wracking enough, I was also a new student that had just moved from Spain . I was born in London, England. In London my name, Ivy Portman, was highly respected. I was the granddaughter of a famous silver worker named Aiden Portman. But as I walked in it felt like I was not wanted there. I found my homeroom and sat in down in the back of the classroom. When I took out my schedule I also notice that I was going to be in the same room for my next class, English Nine. After I sat down and got out my binder for first period I heard the door open and looked up. In the doorway was a boy my age, with long black hair and many facial piercing. He was wearing black and red trip pants and a Hawthorn Heights t-shirt. He was obviously new also because no one greeted him. He was handsome and obviously my type. After I came out of my daze I realized that everyone around me was making fun of him. When he noticed that I was the only one not making fun of him he sat down next to me. When he sat down he pulled out his schedule, it was exactly the same as my own. I was so happy I wanted to scream. I calmed myself down and began to talk with him. “ Hi…” I began “ my name is Ivy, Ivy Portman” I choked out with excitement. “Hello.” He answered. His voice was as smooth as silk. “ I am Aiden Smith.” He ended sweetly. “ I see you like punk rock.” I said nodding towards his folder. “I could say the same about you.” He said with love in his sweet honey voice. “Growing up around punk rock will do that to a person .” I said giggling. He laughed. “ I guess your right. If that what you grow-up around you are most likely going to be that way too.” He said with admiration. I smiled and laughed. “Yea. My mum decided to move here after my father was killed over in Iraq. I miss him dearly. We used to go foxhunting and everything together.” I said trying to contain the tears. He frowned slightly. “How long ago did you lose him?” He asked me looking concerned. “About a year now.” I whispered . “So its obviously a very fresh wound...” He stated. I looked into his eyes. I noticed something about them and was stunned for a moment. They were crimson like mine. I came out of my daze and answered him “It is, but i think I know something that might help alittle” I said smiling. He returned my gaze. He then looked at me with the same stunned look I had just given him. " You're one of us?!" He said in a barely autible whisper. “ And i think you're thinking what I'm thinking.” he said reaching for my hand underneath the desk. I blushed alittle. The cold of his hands was exactly like mine. I could not believe that i had found another vampire. I then got myself together enough to speak. " Yes, I am. But no one must know. Everyone at my old school just thought they were contacts." I said in a very low whisper. He smiled a smile that looked so devious and troublesome. But some how I loved it. "I will not tell anyone about you if you don't tell anyone about me." He said softly. I smiled showing a slight glimmer of my fangs. " I would never risk losing you." I said taking his hand under the desk. Our hands clasped together under the desk and that’s the way they stayed for the rest of the class. When the class ended I stood up and put my books into my back pack. I turned to Aiden. “ Would you like to walk to class together since we have the same classes all day?” I asked, my face blushing slightly. Aiden turned to look into my eyes. “ I would love that.” He said smiling. He took my hand and we walked out of the class together. As we walked down the hall we got many looks from our peers. We walked into second period Algebra hand in hand. I had many Questions on my mind. But my infinite questions would have to wait until lunch. As we sat down the bell rung and our Algebra teacher , Mr. Malon, walked into the class room with a serious look on his face. Despite Mr. Malon’s grave personality he ended up being very nice. Since it was the first day of school there was no homework and all he did was go over class rules and regulations. After class ended me and Aiden rejoined hands and walked off to our third period Spanish class. When we got there we recognized a few students from our last two classes. As we sat down next to each other the Spanish teacher walked in and gave us a suspicious look and muttered something under her breath. The teacher then handed out a class syllabus. She told us that it had to be signed and handed in by tomorrow. She sat down and let us talk for the rest of the class. I leaned over to Aiden. “ So are we officially dating now?” I whispered in his ear. He thought for a moment. “ Only if you want to.” he whispered back. I smiled. “ I would love that” I whispered squeezing his hand. He smiled and squeezed my hand back. “ I was hoping you would say that.” He whispered in my ear. I smiled softly and leaned into him slightly. “ I love you.” I whispered softly. He smiled. “ I love you to.” he said rubbing my hand with his thumb. When the bell rang I released his hand and put my books away. After all of my books were put away I took his hand again and walked out of the class. Our next period was Global History One. We walked in hand-in-hand, the teacher also gave us a look and then began to tell the class his name and what we would be studying that year. "Hello everyone, my name is Mr. Micini, i will be your Global teacher for the next two years. This year we will be studying; early man, river valley civilizations, Geece, Rome, Midevil Europe and much more." He paused a moment to gather his thoughts. "I am now going to pass out a course outline which needs to be signed by tomarrow. You may have the rest of the period to chat." he said smiling. After the period ended me and Aiden walked to lunch together. Once we got to lunch we both sat down without getting anything to eat or drink. We knew that if we even tried to eat normal food it would make us sick. We both began to talk about where we had attended school last year. " I went to a school in London." He said looking around at the other Freshman. I looked up swiftly at him. " I was born in London."
