"Mom? Mom!! Come back! Please I need you! Take me with you! Please!! MOM!!!!!!!
                             Chapter 1
"Skye what's wrong?"
"I had that dream again." Yeah that's me, a sixteen year-old girl named Skye, Skye Deen. And that's my councilor Ms.Jessica, but I call her Sapphire because she she's always wearing a sapphire bracelet and necklace. She's almost the only one who understands where I'm coming from, she's like the sister I never had.
"Was it worse then yesterdays?"
"No but it was more detailed."
"Oh I see."
There was a short silence until I said. “I see you got a new blouse."
"Oh you noticed. Yeah I got it yesterday. You like it?'
"Love it." She let a little giggle like a young girl who just got her first crush.
"You see Sapphire, I miss my mom. Maybe that's why I'm having these dreams. Or maybe something's wrong with her and these dreams are telling me."
"I don't think there's anything wrong with your mother. She's a strong woman. Just like you Skye." She got up from her seat and gave me a hug. Suddenly I felt angry at Sapphire, how does she know how my mother is? She's never met my mom before.
"Just remember that your mother is always with you." She pointed to my heart. “She always right there."
"But I want to see her face again." I started to cry, it made me mad that she just left me with my father and his new wife and her daughter.
"I know it hurts Skye. I know."
She was starting to piss me off with this "I know" stuff. She doesn't know how I feel. “How do you know how I feel Ms. Jessica?" After I said that I wish I hadn't.
She let me go but didn't say anything.
I look at my feet. “How would know how it feels when someone you loved so much left you without saying good-bye." I was mad at my mother but I was lashing it out on Sapphire. I couldn't help it, it was building up so much that I couldn't hold it in. “When they can't call you on your birthday, or Christmas, or when you try to call them on Mother's day and they don't pick up to say thank you for calling. You don't know how it feels." I finally looked up at her and she had tears in her eyes.
"I do know how it feels. Both of my parents left me with my Aunt and Uncle. They didn't want me; they said I was too complicated because I was too smart for them. They didn't want me Skye and they said that to me, in my face. So my Aunt and uncle raised me. Until my Aunt died from cancer and my Uncle went in rehab so I was stuck in a foster home." I looked in her green eyes; she had a lot of pain in them. That's when I felt hated myself for making her feels this way. I got up and gave a hug. I didn't mean to upset you."
"You hadn't called me Ms. Jessica since I met you."
"I'm sorry. I was just mad at my mom."
"And you threw it all on me." I didn't say anything.” Maybe you should go back to class Skye." I looked up at Sapphire, she usually let me stay until third period, and I guess I really made her mad today. I got up without saying anything and left her office.
I'm not a girl who failing my school yet but I just don't do my work most of the time. I'm an honor roll student, that's what makes school boring. I usually take the bus but I wanted to walk home, to get my head straight. I started walking home when I heard someone call my name. I turned around and saw a black, long-haired, Japanese girl with a red t-shirt and some blue jeans with sparkles on them. She ran up to me and said “You’re Skye right?"
"Who wants to know?"
"I'm Keala Williams. Did you talk to Ms. Jessica today?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Do you know why she so upset?
"Umm...umm I think I said some things that might have upset her."
"Like what." She stepped a little closer to me. “You must have said something big because I never seen her so depressed." That made me feel bad, I didn't mean to make her mad. I was just mad.
"Did she say anything about it?" I asked.
"Nope but we need to do something about it, she's the only person who actually cares about what we do with our time and lives." She had a point there. Sapphire was almost the only person who actually gave a damn about us.
"Don't you have her number?"
"I did but I lost it." Some friend I was.
"Well I have it and I'll give you my number just in case." She took out a piece of scrap paper and wrote the numbers down and handed them to me. "Please talk to her."
I grabbed the paper. “I will."
"Great." She gave me a smile. “It was nice to meet you....Skye?"
"Yeah. Like wise."
"Good." She walked off. I really was going to try to talk to Sapphire, she's like an older sister to me and I don't want to lose her. I put the piece of paper in my pocket and continued to walk home.
My house is an on level-peach colored house with a drive-way on the corner. My dad, Richard, his devil wife Samantha, and her daughter Crystal all lived in this crapped house. Samantha is not my real mom. After my real mom divorced my father for cheating, he married the whore that lives in our house now. It served him right that my mom divorced him and he lost a good thing. My mom was a criminal lawyer, top of her game, and my dad only works at a failing cable company called "Star Cable." They don't get much business because of the top cable companies so he doesn't bring in much money and since my mom was always busy with her cases. See I loved going to work with my mom, seeing her fight these big cases, like Dee vs. State. She used to always tell me "Someday you'll be right on my side fighting these cases." Well my father got....I guess you can say lonely and he went to a bar and found no other person but Samantha. And they talked and drank when Dad brought her back home and my mom was on a business trip so he knew she that wouldn't have known. That's when dad got a little too close if you know what I mean. And yeah I saw the whole thing and you know what I did? Nothing just smiled. And yeah he saw me and said not to tell mom but I was a dark kid back then, I didn't cry when I seen it I laughed, and that's what scared him. When the day my mom came back I didn't tell her, I left clues everywhere from clothes to underwear and bracelets and numbers on the caller id, everything. And yep she found out, she snapped. And all I did was look on with a smile on my face, that day Samantha came over and mom got to see what she was replaced with that's when it backfired on me. She packed her things and left, she didn't even say good-bye. All she left for me was her diamond necklace which I never take off. But that same day I still had a smile of my face and "Serve you right dad." And that day I put fear in my stepmother. She doesn't like me for that same reason but hey, this is the price you pay for making my mom leave.
When I got to the house I seen Samantha's green Grand Am in the drive-way, that made me smile I was looking forward to something to let out some steam on, sure she lived here but my guess was that she would be at the school looking for me. I walked through the door and saw Samantha standing in the living room. I didn't look at her as I walked in the kitchen. Samantha was like 5'7, with medium brown hair and blue eyes, enough for any weak man to fall in love with. She was wearing a sleeveless blue tank top with some skin tight jeans, hard to believe anyone could fit in those.
"Where were you." She said.
"I walked." I yelled from the kitchen.
"And you didn't call?" She made that a question.
"Nope."
There was a short silence until I said. "You weren't that worried I see."
"Yes I was."
"If you were." I walked in the living room with a banana in my hand. I took a bite. "If you were you would still be there looking for me. Gotcha." I winked her at then headed to my room.
She walked up to me and grabbed my arm, turning me around. "Now you listen to me little girl. I'm sick of you under minding me. You do it in front of your father you do it in front of me and I'm sick of it. Jennifer's gone and I'm the mother of this house and you respect and honor that. Got it?!"
I was pissed now. She did not just say what I think she said. She is not my mother and she will never be. I let out a little laugh. This was quite funny. "Quite frankly, I don't give a damn who you are." That shocked her. Now I was serious. "Woman you have a lot of balls to tell me some shit like that. To tell a girl who lost her mother a year ago that you're the mother of her own house? You ain't shit to me. You may be married to my father and you may be an adult but quite frankly you're just another woman who lives in this house to me. And that's what you will stay. Shit to me." I yanked my arm from her grip and walked to my room. She wasn't going to say something that insulting and get away with it.
My room has maroon-painted wall with little black birds going all around the room. My mom did it for me, she was quite the painter. In the left corner was a queen sized bed with a maroon bed spread and on the right side of the wall was my TV, I didn't watch it much but it was there, by the door was my black computer my mom brought me, it doesn't have internet but it has a ton of games, and I have a laptop I won in a story writing contest, that one has internet but it's in the living room, soon enough I'm going to switch the two but I never have the time. By my bed is a Mario Go-cart telephone and my black dresser, it is so junky that every time I put my homework on it I'd never see it again. I sat on my bed and there was an envelope, I pick it up, it didn't have a return date, it just had my name and address. I opened it and the letter inside said:
Dear Miss Deen, We have been looking at your records for a long time and they impress us very well and we will hope that you and some other students will come to our school. You will be a good add to our community. We hope that you and these other students (Keala Williams, Xaiver Hampton, Jamie Collins, Natalie Fields and Jessie Mazes) will come to our humble school because it will be an honor for you to be here.

Then at the bottom in had the number and a picture of the school.
"Tokyo, Japan! This must be a joke. Keala....that's that girl who gave me her number." Pulled out the paper and dialed her number. It rang a couple of times then a woman picked up.
"Hello?" She had a sweet voice, she sounded like Sapphire.
"Hello this is Skye; may I talk to Keala please?" I tried to sound sweet but I don't think I was good at it.
"Sure hold on please." The phone went silent then I heard Keala's voice on the phone.
"Hello?"
"Keala?"
"Yes. Who is this?"
"It's Skye."
"Hey Skye, did you talk to Ms. Jessica yet?"
"No I haven't but I called to ask you did you get any mail today?"
"Umm...I don't know."
"You should have."
"Let me go check." The phone went silent again.
"Yeah I did....It said something about a school but it's might just be junk mail."
"NO! Don't throw that out. Keep reading you will see mine name and some other people's names on it.
"I see yours, Natalie's and Xavier's and I don't know who the rest of these people are."
"My guess is that this school is for extremely smart kids and they want us there."
"I don't know about that because they put Natalie on the list."
"Hey she may look dumb and be popular but she's pretty smart. She doesn't try. Like I do."
"This school's in Tokyo."
"I know."
"I've never been to Tokyo!"
"Aren't you Japanese?"
"I was born here in America. Wow, I get to see my own culture. I'll keep this and thanks for calling but I have to go."
"Nice talking to you."
"Like wise."
"Bye."
I hung up. I grabbed the letter and put it in one of my dresser drawers so I wouldn't lose it and laid on my bed.
                            Chapter 2
I woke up to the sound of my dad’s mini van coming in the drive-way. I didn't want to see anyone right now but if I didn't come out he might think there's something wrong with me so I walked out my room and saw my dad standing right by my door.
"Hey Skye. How was your day?"
Every time he asked me that something was up with him. "Oh nothing same old same old. I got another letter from a school."
"Oh really? What school?"
I didn't really want to tell him but he was my father. "A school in Tokyo."
His eyes widen. "Tokyo, Japan?"
"The very one." I walked past him and saw my snotty stepsister Crystal, she was two years younger then I so I had the authority here, looked just like her snotty mother just for the green eyes.
"A women came by today. She asked to speak with you." I turn and looked at my father. "I told her you were sleep and she left."
"Did she leave a name?"
"Umm.....Jessica I believe."
I looked at him like he was stupid. "Why didn't you wake me up?!"
"I'm sorry honey but I didn't want to wake you."
I walked past him and walked in my room. This is the kind of respect I get. I picked up the phone and dialed Sapphire's number. It rang then a man came on the phone.
"Hello?" He had a deep voice; I guess this is her boyfriend.
"Hello can I speak to Miss Jessica."
"Umm....hold on." the phone went silent. I hadn't talked to Sapphire on the phone in a while.
"Hello?"
"Sapphire?"
"Hey Skye. I came to your house today. They said you were sleep."
"I was. I just woke up and my father just told me. I wanted him to wake me up if you came by. I wanted to tell you I'm sorry if I said some things that made you angry, it was just building up inside and I wasn't mad at you I just-" I was just running on.
"I understand but I'm the one who should be apologizing. I don't understand your loss and I tried so hard too. I see you miss your mother and I just have to respect that. I who was that lady in your house."
"That's my devil stepmother; she thinks just because she married my father she's my mother."
"That's not right."
"I know. I wish you were my mother Sapphire." I really did.
"No don't say that Skye, you don't mean that. You should always love the mother who gave you life."
"I know but if you were my mother I wouldn't be going through this."
"That's sweet Skye."
"I'm very sorry and I hope I could talk to you tomorrow?"
"Same time?"
"Yeah."
"Sounds like a plan."
"Great." I hung up and walked out of my room. It smelled like fried okra and chicken, I hated okra but had a weakness for chicken. I walked in the kitchen and every one was sitting at table.
"We were just about to get you." My dad smiled at me. I walked over to the sink and washed my hand, personal thing and sat down. We started to eat. I don't have anything against my stepsister but she looks too happy sometimes. And her mother will end up getting hurt. I might be only sixteen but I have a black beat in Karate and I can break someone's arm.
"So Skye, why don't you tell everyone what you got in the mail." He was trying to start a conversation.
"Oh just another letter about a school I could go to."
"But tell them where it is."
"Umm...umm.....Japan."
"Japan? Oh no, I don't think so. You are not going to Tokyo before I do." Crystal put her fork down.
"Wow Japan. What a nice country. Not as nice as ours or as big or as dangerous but..." She was trying to convince my father is a bad idea for me to go to school in Japan.
"Oh it's not that dangerous Sammy." That's her nickname, Sammy. That hooker.
"Oh yes it is, lots of earthquake in talk about the air travel."
"What about it?" I looked at her.
"It costs a ton."
"Money range?"
"Oh let's say twelve to eighteen thousand?"
"You a lie." I was trying not to yell.
"Now calm down everyone. Skye maybe we can find another school you could go to."
"Are you kidding? One of the smartest countries wants me to go to one of there schools. What an honor and you want me to turn them down?"
"Yes we do."
"I wasn't asking you Sammy." I was mocking her.
"I'm not saying turn them down but eight hundred thousand dollars is pretty steep. “What, are they paying for it? What if they pay for all of it?"
"Then-"
"I don't think they will pay for you Skye."
"What's that suppose to mean?!"
"Nothing." I was getting sick of her. Very.
"Japan is pretty far Skye and how would me and your father keep in touch with you?"
"I write a letter every day."
"I still don't think you going to Japan is a good idea."
"When it comes to me nothing is a good idea to you Samantha. Why you think I don't try out for sports? Football would not only get me an academic skill but boost my social life and that means me out of the house faster."
"Alive or dead."
"Shut up Crystal."
"We'll have to think about it."
'Whatever. I'm done and I got to go see someone about my homework." I got up and cleaned my plate.
"Was his name?"
"Her name is Keala." I went in the living room to get my blue-jean jacket
"What time will you be home?"
"Before dark. I'll call." I walked out of the door. I lied about the homework part but I did need to see Keala about this school. Maybe her mother had some idea of what this school is. I found her address in on the internet; she lived in a two-level white cottage house with a two-car garage. They had a nice garden in the front of the lawn, it made in look nice. I when up to the door and rang the doorbell, It made a sweet tune to it then a light haired boy about Crystal's age answered the door. He had like brown haired smooth to the side and brown eyes.
"Hi can I-"
"Get my number gladly." Don't even know my name and hitting on me.
"Charmed but I here to talk to your sister."
"Sister? I don't have a sister."
"Move Shawn, Hey Skye. What brings you here?"
"I need to talk to you."
"Ok." She waked out of the house and sat on the stairs. I sat down with her.
"I talked to Miss Jessica. She said she was sorry but I was the one who should’ve been sorry."
"Why was she sorry?"
"She said that she shouldn't have tried to understand what I was going through. She said that I lost my mother and she need to respect that."
"Wow what happened to your mother?"
I Told her. I wasn't comfortable telling her but I guess you could consider as a friend.
"I'm so sorry Skye." She gave me a hug. It made me feel so cozy.
"No it's okay Keala. And I wanted to know if you got internet." I lied again. I thought about would she'd take it if I asked her about the school.
"Yeah."
"I was wondering if you could look up the school the letter was sent from."
"Oh why don't ask my mom. Come in." Irony.
We got up and we went her house. She had an Asian-American theme it her living room. Asian pictures all around the wall and the red paint blended in perfect. The red oak tables and night stand were lovely. There was a fireplace on the left wall with lots of family photos on top.
"Well hello there, you must by Skye. It's a pleasure to meet you I'm Victoria." Her face was similar to Keala's, small, round but a little pointed chin. Her skin was a little darker then Keala's though, almost a water chestnut color. Her mother was a tall, slim women but she had a figure. Her long black hair came down to her back. . She was wearing I guess a midnight blue kimono. Nice outfit.
"It's an honor to meet you Mrs. Williams."
"Hey mom we wanted to ask you some questions."
"Well okay. Let me turn off the oven. I'm baking banana muffins." She walked in the kitchen then came back and sat down on a plaid colored couch. We sat in the couch next to her.
"We were wondering if you know anything about this school." She pulled out the letter and gave it to her.
She looked at it closely. "This school's in Japan."
"We know. We both got a letter about that in the mail today. They want us to go to their school."
"Wow, This is Sakura High School The school for the gifted and powerful. What an honor to be selected to go to that school. One of most successful but very strict school. Most of the students enrolled don't even finish their sophomore year."
"Do you think I could go to that school.”?
"We'll have to get some more information on it but I think we could arrange this, I'll have to talk to your father too."
"I know."
I looked at my watch. It was eight-thirty. I was extremely late. I jumped up.
"What's wrong Skye?" Keala's mom asked me.
"I'm extremely late to go home." I raced to the door. “It was nice meeting you Mrs. Williams. See you at school Keala."
"Bye" I walked out the door and ran home.
I arrived at home in record time even though Keala lived couple houses down, but my dad doesn’t know that. I took a deep breath which hurt badly and walked in the door and guess who was by the door, Samantha.
"You're late." She gave me this evil look.
"I'm sorry about that, we lost track of time. Where's dad. I need to talk to him about something."
"One he's not here and two it's about that school isn't it?"
"That's none of your business." I snapped.
"You're not going to that school Skye."
"Says you."
"And your father."
"What?!"
"I convinced him that school was not the best for our little girl." She mocked a sweet caring voice, sickening.
"I'm not your daughter. You don't know what's best for me Sammy."
"Don't call me that." She started raising her voice at me. Bad idea.
"Sammy Sammy Sammy. I can and I will. You're not my mother and you will never be."
The next thing I knew I was holding the right side of my face, Samantha had smacked me. Where she hit it throbbed. The pain hadn't kicked in until I let go if my face. I looked up at her face and just laughed, I could see the fear in her eyes, and she knew what was coming. I had my hands in fist. Remember I said I was a black belt in Karate? Yeah but I didn't break her arm I just busted her lip with my fist. It happened so fast I didn't notice that she was on the ground.
"Skye!!" I look up and saw one pissed father looking at me.
                            Chapter 3
"What the heck were you thinking Skye?! Hitting your mother like that?!" He was making me more mad saying the "mother" term for her so freely. "She's the mother of the house and you don't hit her. Are you alright Samantha?"
"Sure is she alright." I whispered. I felt like spitting in her face and walking away.
"What was that?! Are you back talking?"
I didn't say anything.
"She has the right to hit you. You don't."
Something about that made my mind snap. “She’s not my mother!!!! And she'll never be!! Why can't anyone understand? Screw her and her daughter. I don't have to stand for this. If you love her more then me then fine just say that but don't act like she didn't do anything wrong!!!" I got up and walked out of his room.
"Skye come back here. NOW!!!" His screaming wasn't going to help. I walked in my room and slammed the door. I got out a bag and started putting my clothes in it. If he's going to put her first before me then fine. I'll leave just like my mother. My phone rang. I picked it up.
"Hello?!" My voice came out harsher then I wanted.
"Skye." It was Sapphire.
"Hey."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I said too quickly.
"I know when something's wrong with you Skye now what's wrong?"
I told her what had just happened. "That's horrible Skye. She shouldn't have hit you. She's not your real mother so she had no right to hit you."
"But my father keeps saying that she is." There was a knock at my door. "Go away!"
"Can we talk?"
"About what? My punishment?"
"No."
"Maybe you should talk to your father." She was siding with him.
"Now you're on his side?"
"I'm on no ones side but it's best to do that. I'll talk to you at school about it."
"Ok." I hung up and opened my door. Samantha stood behind him.
"Can I come in?"
"Yeah, but Smack down has to stay out." He walked in and I slammed the door in Samantha's face. Man that felt good.
He and I sat down. I grabbed my bag.
"What do you want to talk about?" I didn't look at him.
"I want to hear what happened from you. I didn't get your side of the story."
I told him every thing.
" It doesn't matter you shouldn't have struck her back."
"I'm sick of her pushing me around. she's not my mother so she had no right to hit me. Why do you keep saying she's my mother? She's not."
"I know that but I want you think she is."
"So you're trying to say I'm stupid now"
"No no. I know she's not you mother but I want her as your mother figure and not just a women I married."
"Why did you marry her? Trying to forget mother." He didn't say anything. "I get it."
"I sorry Skye."
"I understand. You hate her memory."
"I loved your mother but she was always busy and I miss...what I'm trying to say is that I do miss your mother. But she left-"
"It was your fault! You had to meet that-that thing!! And you had to sleep with her! Mom would still be here if it wasn't for her! If she ever wants my respect and trust, she’s going to have respect me too. I'm not Crystal, I'm sixteen and she going to have to respect that."
"I didn't know you felt like this." He looked down.
"You never asked. It was always what Samantha wanted. How to make her feel good."
He gave me a hug. "I'm sorry. Skye. I didn't mean to hurt you."
I wanted to believe him but he disrespected me so much and that something that's hard to forgive.
"Can get some time alone? I need to think."
"Sure." He got up and walked by the door. "You’re just like your mother Skye. Strong and independent. Good night." He left my room and closed my door. I laid on my bed. I didn't know how to take all of this. First of all this is their entire fault, mostly Samantha but dad is hard to forgive too because he was the one who brought her here. Sapphire's going to have a field day tomorrow.
                          Chapter 4
"And that's what happened last night...I don't know what to do now Sapphire. She said that my father said I can't go to school in Japan."
"Did he tell you that?"
"No. But I don't care if I have to run away. I'm going to that school."
"Is it really thatimportant Skye?" Was she hit up side her head? Of course it's that important.
"Yeah is that important. I have a person who's Japanese and her mother said this school is one of the top schools in that country."
"Hmm. Not bad."
"I always wanted to go to Japan, by myself. Without Samantha or her daughter of hers, Crystal. Almost like heaven."
"If you left Skye I would worry about you a lot. You've been in my office since you were twelve. It would be extremely different without you."
"I was wondering if you could come with me then. I would miss you a lot too Sapphire."
"I don't know Skye. I would love to come to Japan with you but my life is here and..."
"And?"
"And what if your father doesn't let you go."
"I-I don't know. I don't know Sapphire. If I have to run away I'll run away. My father's wife not going to hurt my future."
"You're one determined girl Skye and I like that. I'm behind no matter what." I ran over to her and gave her a hug. It's good that someone was one my side, my mother would approve of me going to Japan to go to school, especially with Sapphire.
When I got home Samantha wasn't there but my dad was. It was my chance to talk to him about my school plans. I dropped my bag at the door and walked to his room. I knocked on his room.
"Come in." I opened the door; he was sitting on his bed looking at a piece of paper. "Hey Skye. Guess what I got?"
"Umm..."
"Your report card. I can't believe this. This is unbelievable." My heart dropped. "My girl is almost a genius." I jumped up. It started me. He gave me a crushing hug. "I'm so proud of you Skye. I was afraid that of all this drama you would stop doing you work in school."
"I know what I'm supposed to do dad."
"I'm so proud of you. Look at these grades." I told them I did my and I guess that they had to see it to believe it.
"Well not that you’re in a good mood I want to talk to you about something."
He put the report card down. "What is it Skye? Is it about an allowance raise?"
"We'll talk about that later." I had my spare of tries. "I want to talk about the school I'm going to for the next two years."
He let out a soft sigh I could feel he didn't want to talk about this. Skip him. "I don't know about that school in Tokyo. It seems expensive. I don't know."
"They're paying for me."
"But you don't have any supervision."
"I'm in a school that was built on supervision. They wouldn’t have looked me up if they weren't sure I wasn't disciplined."
"I have a lot to think about. When do you have to send in you request forms?"
"Umm...tomorrow. School is over in two weeks."
"Tomorrow? I'll think about it Skye."
"Alright." I got up and left his room. I saw Samantha coming down the hallway, she had bag in her hand.
"Hi Skye." Something was up, she never said hi to me.
"Hey." I walked past her and walked in the living room. Crystal was in my computer. "What are you doing?!"
"I'm on the computer."
"Umm wrong computer. Get up."
"I don't think so. Mom said I could get on this one."
"You think I care?! Get up! My mom gave me this computer, not Samantha." I grabbed her shirt and picked her up. Not much but just enough to scare her.
"Let me go Skye. Mom said I could get on this computer. Let me go!" She started swinging windily. She almost caught me in the face but I dropped her on the ground, she landed on her butt. I sat down in her seat and closed out what she was doing.
"Next time you ask me, not Samantha." She got and walked away. I guess I won that fight without any force-well some force. I went to check my e-mail. I had twenty-three new messages. Most of the time they were pen pals I met over time and some were Sapphire.
"Hmm...kwilliams@hotmail.com. Who's that?" I opened up that e-mail, it said:

Hey Skye, I found your e-mail address and I wanted to tell you that my mom said that I could go to school in Japan. She said some of my relatives live out there so I wouldn't be alone. Isn't that great, what about you? Can you go to? hit me back.

See ya!

Dang that girl and her race. She was able to go and I'm here wondering if I could go. I shut down my computer and started to walk to my room when I heard my father and Samantha talking. They had the door cracked just enough do I could what was happening. I pushed my ear slightly on the door.
"I got Skye's grades today." My father said.
"Oh how were they. Bad?"
"No. They were terrific."
"Oh." She sounded disappointed.
"Then she asked me about her school. I don't know about it. It's free, that good."
"And who would be taking care of her, what about food?"
"I don't know Sammy."
"And what if she's hurt? Who would help her? Those Japanese don't know anything about this girl so how could they help her."
He didn't say anything.
"I think it's a terrible idea and you know it".
"I don't want to lose her. She's the only thing I've got that reminds me of Faith. And I don't want to lose that."
"You've got to get over her Richard. Stop living in the past and think what's best for her and for us." She lean over and kissed him. "You don't want to lose two things of cherish." She's threatening him. The bitch!
"Your right. I can't lose two things of cherish. I'll tell her tomorrow." I felt like my heart was crushed. I was angry, I was sad, I felt like I couldn't breathe. I had mixed emotions but one was for sure; rage. I walked in my room and closed my door quietly. I got my suitcase and started packing my bag, again, I started putting my clothes and books and my suitcase until it was just the right weight. I walked in the living room and grabbed my laptop and put in its carrying case. I zipped it up and put it under my bed. This was the last straw. He let that slut step in the way too many times and this was it.
                 Chapter 5
I couldn't sleep, I was too angry and anxious. I called Sapphire to meet me in front on my house at seven in the mourning. She'd asked what was wrong. I told her nothing and hung up, rude but I've had it with my father. My alarm went off. I quickly turn it off and got up. I waited until I saw Sapphire's head lights in the driveway.I couldn’t go though the front door because it made too much noise, so I climbed out the window. Sapphire was still in the car. I walked to her and put my suitcase in the trunk of her car and got in the front seat beside her.
"Hey Skye." She gave me a hug. "I'm so glad he let you go to this school." She must’ve didn’t notice that I hopped out of the window.
"Y-yeah." She drove out of the drive and pulled off." I have to tell you something Sapphire."
She stopped at light. "What is it?"
"He-he didn't really say yeah. I snuck out."
"Skye!!"
"I had to. See Samantha convince my father that I should go and he was going to tell me today so I sent the request forms through the internet." Try saying that really fast. I took out my laptop and turned it on.
"I can't believe your father or the nerve of that woman. She shouldn’t have done that, and you shouldn't have snuck out. What if he comes looking for you?!”
I ignore the questions. Hell, even I haven’t gotten that far to answer those questions." I hadn't finished sending the forms in. All I need is my father's signature."
"And how are you supposed to get that young lady." She sounded like my mom, I loved and hated it at the same time.
"I didn't grow up learning my father's signature." I took out a piece if paper and wrote his signature, then scanned it so it would appear on the form, then pressed send.
"You impress me everyday Skye. I wonder was else you could do."
"Trust me Sapphire you have no idea." I smiled at her.
I pulled up at the school and I saw Keala and her parents standing by their car. I got out and grabbed my bag walked over to Keala. "Hey Keala."
"Hey Skye. Hey Ms. Jessica. I'm so glad you're coming with me Skye."
"Sapphire coming too."
"Sapphire? Who's Sapphire?"
"Oh that's Ms. Jessica's nickname."
"Oh. Oh Skye you met my mom, this is my dad."
"Pleasure to meet you Skye? Keala always talking about you." I felt ashamed because I never talked about her, never.
"It's an honor to meet you sir." I shook his hand.
"If I could get everyone attention." There was a man on a megaphone standing in the grass behind us. "I want to tell all the students We're so proud that we had you as our students and I bet the parents are very proud of this honor they have received but since your flight is leaving soon we will get this ceremony going."
When we got through with the award ceremony I walked to the coach bus with two certificates and a trophy. The trophy was for the most improvement during the school year, and this certificate is for perfect attendance and for straight A's. Sapphire grabbed the awards while I put my bag on the bus. We got on the bus and I sat by Sapphire while Keala and her parents sat in the seat beside us. We pulled off as everyone was waving and blowing kisses. It almost made me cry because my father wasn't able to see this. No this was his fault and I shouldn't be sad.
"I can't believe we're going to Japan." Sapphire said. "This is going to be so exciting." She smiled at me. I didn't smile back. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know. I feel guilty. I hadn't done anything except run away."
"But run away? You’ve betrayed your father’s trust and orders and flying to another country. Why wouldn’t you feel bad?
“Man, you really know how to make people feel worse than they already feel.” But she was right. I did feel bad about that. Maybe I was going soft. "I don't know Sapphire. Maybe so, but his lust for her shouldn't have got in the way."
"Maybe so but you have to think in his eyes that's his wife and he needs her opinion too."
"But she's not my mother and her opinion shouldn't matter. What matter is what type of education I get and how I can I get it."
"That's right Skye he should have thought about you, but you did disobey him." She was right, I'm leaving the country without my father's permission, that worth a lifetime worth of groundings, maybe I was just being selfish. No, he pushed me and she pushed me and I not going back. I came this far.
We were almost at the airport. It would take us twenty hours to get from L.A to Tokyo. That's a long time to think about what I'm doing, almost too long.
We finally got to the airport after minutes of horrible traffic. I grabbed my bag and began to walk to my new life.
"You're shaking Skye. What's wrong?"
"I didn't tell you that I'm afraid of planes." Yeah I'm afraid of planes. Their too big and so closed together. No room to run.
"Wow. I would have never noticed Skye."
"You're not helping"
She let out a chuckle then hugged me. "Don't worry Skye, I'll help you through."
"Yeah whatever." She laughed again. I walked ahead of her. We walked through the lobby area of the airport. There were fast-food places everywhere. That was making me hungry since I didn't eat before I ran away-I mean left.
"Wow. I've been on a plane once and I never seen all these restaurants." I said to myself.
"Skye come on!!" Keala was screaming to me. I picked my bag up and ran toward her.
"You excited?" I asked her.
"Very. My parents are worried about me but I told them I'd be okay." I arrived at where our plane would be. I stopped. This was it, what I've been wanted to do. All of a sudden I felt sick, I think homesick. I miss home already and I haven't got on the plane.
"Skye!!!" I turned around and saw Samantha and my father running up to me. I looked at them in shock.
"Skye what are you doing?" I saw the fear in his eyes.
"Dad. I'm leaving."
"No...no please no. You can't."
"Why not?"
"Because I said."
"No. Samantha said so. "His face went pale.”I heard you two talking yesterday. Saying that I couldn't go because if I did, she would leave and you're scared she might leave you."
"That's not true."
"You lie!!" Sapphire and everyone else finally caught up with me. Sapphire stopped. I wasn’t going to left his tears and sorrows get the best of me. He put himself in this situation and his answer will decide how he will get himself out. "Then what is dad? What is it?!"
He didn't say anything.
"Fine! If you can't answer me then it must be true. She may be your wife but I'm your child and I'm suppose to come before her. You know what, choose between me and her dad."
He looked down.
"CHOOSE!!!" I was yelling at my own father, boldness was coming out my ass.
"I'm so sorry Skye, I don't want to be alone alright." Tears rained down his face.
The rage was building in me horribly. He just chose her over me. Tears began to fill my eyes. "You lost the only family you had. Good-bye Dad. I'll write if I feel like it." I turned walked on the airplane. I have no father now, I hated him. He chose his wife over his own daughter. Fine, just like my mother, he lost a good thing.
We took our seat. I sat by Keala while Sapphire sat with some of the other students. She said that she needed to think about some things. I believed her.
I turned to Keala. "I need to ask you something."
"Shoot."
"I'm going need your help when we get there."
"Why?"
"You see. I-I didn’t know how to speak Japanese and I was wandering if you could translate for me?"
"I'd be glad to." She gave me a smile.
"Attention passengers we are about to take off. I need for everyone to make sure that their seatbelts are safely buckled and we'll be on our way. I grabbed my seat tightly. I told I was afraid of flying right? Keala touch my shoulder lightly. It made me flinch.
"What's wrong? You're afraid of flying?" She made that a question.
"Yeah." I gripped the seats tightly.
"Don't worry Skye; I'll help you through this."
I turned my head slowly to her. "Thanks."
"Here." She took out a CD player and put a CD in it. "I knew I should have brought this. It's to help you through the flight."
"How long is this flight?"
"I say...twenty hours and thirty minutes."
"Perfect." I softly lifted my hand toward the CD player and grabbed it. "Thank you Keala."
"No problem."
The plane started taking off. The bumping felt like an earthquake to me. I think my heart skipped a couple of beats during the take off. Finally we were in the air. I was terrified now. I watched a lot of movies with planes on them and most of them the plane let's just say never got point B, they ended in a fiery inferno.
"Skye?"
I jumped. Keala laughed. "I'm sor
