Twilight Has Nothing Compared to Anime (support to Alyssameep's Twilight: The Final Statement)

Book review By: yuu shindemura
Young adult

This article/review supports Alyssameep's article "Twilight: The Final Statement".

This is also the hardbound proof that Twilight is NEVER a great romance, and numerous anime titles can easily fall in line, each with their own, unique ways to tell.

ANIME v.s. TWILIGHT

In lieu to Alyssameep's article, "Twilight: The Final Statement" (courtesy of Alyssameep) i can now conclude now what twilight actually is.

Conclusion: TWILIGHT IS ONLY SIMILAR TO 'ANIME'; YET IT IS A CATASTROPHIC FAIL.

Alyssameep has drawn significant points to twilight. In courtesy with her points, I have extracted notable information from her article and made a support to which evidences from anime can be well-observed.

Evidences:

1. Bella's clumsy, obsessing over Edward, cooking for Charlie, obsessing over Edward, breaking Jacob's heart, and I don't believe I've mentioned obsessing over Edward. (ext. from Alyssameep)

ANIME SIMILARITIES:
-Tenma Tsukamoto of the anime 'School Rumble' is Obsessed just the same way over a character named Karasuma.
-Yayoi Asuka, too, of the anime 'koikoi seven' is obsessed the same way towards Tetsuro.
-any ECCHI (ecchi means PERVERTISH) genre anime has the same pattern as Bella. a weak idiotic girl who can't take her mind off the male character.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. NONE OF THE VAMPIRES CARE THAT THEY BREAK THE LAW. Alice steals the Porsche, Edward speeds, and Carlisle uses his position at the hospital to get blood for Bella in Breaking Dawn. (ext. from Alyssameep)

ANIME HIGHLIGHTS:
-Inu Yasha mostly does anything for Kagome.
-Recca Hanabishi, of the anime 'Flame of Recca', promised to Yanagi Sakoshita that he'll protect her against any form of evil creatures and whatnot.
-i think, NO male anime character was able to do what Syaoran has done for Sakura in the anime, Tsubasa Chronicles. Syaoran went searching for Sakura's memories (since memories contained their love feelings) in DIFFERENT WORLDS, every struggle there was EPIC.
yet, Syaoran is aware of the consequences, especially that the said consuquence is an exchange of his existence from Sakura's past. hence, Sakura CANNOT remember him from her past!

ha! imagine THAT, meyer!
-though driven out of his clumsiness, Yamato is ready to do anything for Suzuka juz to impress her. from the anime, 'Suzuka'.

IN THIS EVIDENCE, the anime implies that the men WILL DO ANYTHING for the women they love. MEYER FAILED to point that particular positive outlook, so instead of doing anything, she placed it as Edward is ready to commit a crime for Bella.
in this evidence too, ANIME made a clear positive notion against twilight, to which Twilight pointed out the negative doings.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. the note that Bella is weak then she went strong in the fourth book, Breaking Dawn was the perfect EPIC FAIL. (lack of creative imagination on Meyer's part)

ANIME HIGHLIGHTS:
-gundam seed and gundam-X (in case if your mind wonders why it's called Gundam-X, the gundams here are called via numbers, such as Gundam Rx78 and Gundam Mk113; thus, Gundam-X, from algebra's x-number, which states that this Gundam-X is a highly and more advanced mecha than its predescessors. the other more powerful gundam than the X-Gundam is the Gundam-XX [double-X]) and ; the main characters were weak at first (to the point of they are crying), but has found the reason to fight throughout the series, and that made them strong along with their 'mobile suits' called the Gundams. (imagine if your world was torn in war, and with the woman you love got tangled in it as much as yourself and the rest of the humanity---that's EPIC).
-Final Fantasy installments have this similar way of going from weak to strong. that's epic, and they have believable reasons to get strong. FF btw, rule the word 'epic', so twitards, don't try infringing this word for the lame book, twilight.
-try watching the anime 'Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann'; that anime owned what EPIC should be!
-Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles is VERY epic!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. the part of the plot of twilight of immediately falling in love, can be seen in any anime.

THAT's FINE, and this is ROMANTIC actually; but only if there are worthy reasons behind, mainly reasons of falling in love immediately needs to be supported with CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, in which TWILIGHT DOESN'T possess.

ANIME HIGHLIGHTS:
-Yamato, from 'Suzuka', had a love-at-first-sight for Suzuka Asahina. NOTE: yamato's character development is reasonable (see the anime). Yamato's character is a fifteen year old guy who,mostly covers what teenagers in adolescent are experiencing as a part of their puberty. so, unless you'll reason out that Edward Cullen, being a 108 year old virgin is still experiencing PUBERTY, then his part is excusable.
-Nagi Sanzenin, from the anime 'Hayate no Gotoku', fell in love with Hayate Ayasaki right to Ep.01 DUE TO the misunderstanding of what he said to her: 'I'll take you away from here!' How the 51-episode anime unravels its plot made the whole notion believable (the plot of Hayate no Gotoku is actually a romantic comedy).
-Tomoya fell in love at first sight with Nagisa because she's beautiful; and with their further INTERACTION (note:character devt.), it was understandable as to why his feelings have grown deeper to her--as understandable if you find yourself crying over this anime, 'Clannad'.

the final note is that, with the CORRECT character development, it is possible to fall in love at first sight, provided it is REASONABLE. unlike EdwardXBella.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. James has no reason to chase Bella. (ext. from ALyssameep)

ANIME SIMILARITIES:
-most action anime genre has this notion, example, 'Knight Hunters' and 'Gensoumaden Saiyuki'. Yet, they are action genre, and Twilight is not labelled as action and with fighting sences and all.
-Ultraman, Masked Rider, Power Rangers and the like has their alien foes having no reason to wreck havoc in Earth. they just--whoosh---appear! and these guys in costumes and robots made out of hard plastic to be worn by stuntmen made the plot and fighting somehow okay.

IF edward or James become ultraman or Masked Rider, the Twiilght plot may be seen having reduced damage. or if James' surname is 'Bond', then it's okay. lol.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Twilight's pedophile-ish characters.

Anime SIMILARITIES:
-watch 'Sky Girls'; there are a bit of pedophilic attempts seen throughout its 25-episode; however, this anime CANNOT topple the age difference of 90 years in which was applied in Twilght.

TWILIGHT owned this part, since it IS very pedophilic.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Bella's unexplained power. (really??) (ext. from Alyssameep)

Anime SIMILARITIES:
THOUGH anime gives REASONS as to any weird power there may be, here are some points we can compare:

-Lacus Clyne and Cagalli Yula Attha of the anime 'Gundam Seed' were dubbed to have 'Seeds'; a form of latent extraordinary ability, though it was only hinted.
-the girls from 'Koikoi Seven' has different forms of power that were unexplained, BUT due to the genre of Koikoi7 being a romantic comedy, it can be said as an excuse.
-the characters of 'DC Da Capo' anime has unique abilities.
-Yakumo Tsukamoto of 'school rumble' can read minds with no given explanation as to why, yet, her sister, Tenma also have odd talents such as she may be clumsy and bad at cooking, but very excellent when skiing.
-even Walt Disney movies DON'T and DIDN'T explained powers in particular.

the bottomline of this part, is that anime mostly inserts unexplainable proportions of powers BECAUSE, and only BECAUSE for Parody or Comic Relief purposes. those powers that were not explained, BUT, they ARE NOT USED TO COVER PLOTHOLES. the unexplained powers are only there, for the essence of comedy, parody, and comic-relief mischief. On the other hand, Twilight used the notion that Bella has the power so that Meyer can cover her own plothole.

ANIME HIGHLIGHTS:

-in the anime 'Happiness', powers are explained to be forms of witchcraft (this anime has slight resemblance to HP, but their magical accessories turned to be their 'familiars' and this anime is in a normal high school setting)

-in the anime 'Claymore', the Claymores have different abilities and special kinds of powers, as explained that they were merged with different monsters' blood and possible DNA's, and these types of different monsters have their own abilities. The point of Claymore is that, they are using monsters (termed as 'Yokai' in Japanese) as the source of the CLaymores' powers. (In twilight, as explained by ALyssameep, Bella is only a HUMAN, a human, not a freak--hence, placing an explanation that she has powers proves she's a freak).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONCLUSION:
Twilight is fashioned similar to Anime in a lot of sense; but ANIME is not as shallow as Twiilght; hence, Anime is BETTER than twilight.

ANIME is a very vital industry in which, as i'm 90% right, these twilight fans have never heard of. in this case, they thought TWILIGHT REALLY IS ALL THAT GOOD---
but NO, it's not.

ANIME had done much of the fine romance years ago---just that Meyer is a fat troll who introduced Anime-essence in live sparkling action doesn't mean she's all that good---she never will be.

her pathetic attempts to bring the ultimate romance were done years ago by Japanese writers. and believe me, ANIME can take care of twilight on any day and any year.

Few Recommendable Romantic anime titles:

1. FUSHIGI YUGI (alternate title: The mysterious play) (year 1996)

Miaka, a high school girl got sucked inside a book, and is destined to gather the seven
celestial warriors for summoning the four gods for three wishes to be used in that world. ultimately, she fell in love with Tamahome, one of the celestial warriors;
to which Tamahome loved her back.
BUT, a wish to which Tamahome would become a real person is a wish that the four gods cannot grant---and it ends up with Tamahome unabling to be with Miaka in the end.
simply, Tamahome isn't a person, he's a celestial warrior, and gods cannot change as to who he is BECAUSE he's essential for their summon because yes, that's right---
he's a celestial warrior which Miaka needs to gather, and that is a very reasonable plot (not a plothole).
Celestial Warriors do feel love and other emotions, and Tamahome cares for Miaka.
Tamahome goes to protect Miaka not just she is destined to call the gods, but he sees her as a person and someone worth loving.

RESULT:
FUSHIGI YUGI = WIN
TWILIGHT = FAIL
---------------------------

2. THE VISION OF ESCAFLOWNE (year 1996)

Hitomi Kanzaki, she is transported to the world of Gaea due to her mysterious latent fortune-telling or psychic powers.
Gaea is a mysterious planet where she can see Earth and its moon in the sky.
Hitomi's latent psychic powers, which was later revealed to be the cause of her summoning,
are enhanced on Gaea and she quickly becomes embroiled in the conflicts between the Zaibach Empire and the several peaceful countries that surround it.
Van, king of the fallen kingdom of Fanelia (he looks young, still.^^ he's a prince as it should but the war claimed the king's life a little too early), struggles to stop Zaibach using his mystical mecha called 'Escaflowne'.
Hitomi, whose fortune telling powers blossom in Gaea, discovers she is the key to awakening 'Escaflowne' and to stopping Zaibach's plans.
while Hitomi and Van are constantly pitted in an EPIC BATTLE of surviving the battles and odds, they developed the mutual FEELING of LOVE,
and what it means to care for someone important to you in the middle of a battle.

RESULT:
THE VISION OF ESCAFLOWNE = WIN
TWILIGHT = FAIL

------------------------

3. SUZUKA (year 2005)

Yamato Akitsuki, a young man from the rural Hiroshima Prefecture moving to the big city of Tokyo. and his new next-door neighbor, Suzuka Asahina, a skilled high jumper.
Yamoto falls in love (at first sight) with Suzuka and with the motivation of pursuing a relationship with her;
he joins the track and field team hoping to impressing her.
After joining, Yamoto discovers that he has the potential to become a top hundred-meter sprinter.

Suzuka's character-driven plot predominantly makes use of dramatic structure to facilitate character development. Characterization is further achieved through the use of character back-story (one important element which Twilight DOESN'T have).
The story in general employs a realistic tone, but will occasionally use surreal humour (Again, nothing found in twilight).

THIS IS ALSO AN ANIME to which, girls would hope to see how YOUNG ADOLESCENT GUYS would act, like hesitating to admit feelings,
denying and sugar-coating their feelings in hopes not to get embarassed or sometimes hurt when confessing love to someone they admire,
as well as NORMAL TEEN RELATIONSHIP ACTIVITIES found, like school matters and culture festivals, as well as maintaining homeworks and someone to advice you in the middle of your love-epic battle for owning someone's heart.

"A Twilight fan IS likely to say: it's normal so it's boring.

REPLY: be CREATIVE, and that's what the plot of suzuka is: creativity to its apex of maintaining romantic-comedy and romance (without teen pregnancy and raging hormones BUT maintains to be highly amusing)."

GET THIS: Suzuka was likely to refuse Yamato because he reminds her of her past BF.
(again, this is in reference to the 'character-driven plot predominantly makes use of dramatic structure to facilitate character development')

RESULT:

SUZUKA = WIN
TWILIGHT = FAIL

-------------------------------

4. INU-YASHA (2000)

Kagome Higurashi got sucked into the distant past of Japan when by chance, a centipede-looking monster came out of a well from the shinto shrine where she was.
The Japan here btw, is in a fictional setting, one that was said to have been inhabited with monsters.
she was rescued by Inu-Yasha, a half-demon who aimed for the 'Jewel of Four Souls', the said jewel to make any monsters to be the most powerful one living once its power is acquired.
around 50years before, Kikyu, a shrine maiden vowed to protect this jewel against any monsters.
Inuyasha, when he found out the jewel's power, wanted it power but cannot acquire it since Kikyu was protecting the said jewel.
Kikyu somehow felt Inuyasha's loneliness at one time they were talking in a meadow, and confessed that she herself IS JUST LIKE A half-demon---she may be a human,
but her task of guarding the jewel made her dangerous to other humans. hence, she feels more like a half-demon, half of her emotions remains human while half made her numb.
this led to Kikyu and Inuyasha's love to blossom.
soon after, an event where the main villain, Naraku deceived both Inuyasha and Kikyu--to which Kikyu shot an arrow at Inuyasha when he acquired the jewel since it was already in danger as the whole shrine where the jewel is kept was burned and attacked, he hopes that Kikyu will protect it close to her.
but like i said, the two of them were deceived.
Kikyu died from a fatal wound, while Inuyasha was sealed in time with the arrow (it contained powerful prayers and spells whenever Kikyu shot them).
Kagome arrived, but was soon discovered that she was the reincarnation of Kikyu---
but Kikyu was reincarnated as well.

Who will Inuyasha choose then, Kagome or Kikyu?
(but that's not the only question, so much events happened to its 167episode)

this anime remained as one of the TOTAL EPIC and that summary is only its faint light.

RESULT:
Inu-Yasha = WIN
Twilight = FAIL

5. VAMPIRE KNIGHT (2005 on manga, 2008 on anime)

****the year it was published lines the same as twilight, but vampire knight is still way better than twilight.;p and if you do noticed, a manga needs to be drawn so
needless to say a manga would take longer points to finish---it needs the storyline and the drawing, so for any thought like the vampire knight
copied twilight, no---anime doesn't need to copy some puny plotless novel.****

Yuki Cross's earliest memory is of a snowy night in winter, when she was attacked by one vampire and was saved by another, Kaname Kuran. Yuki is the adopted daughter of the Headmaster of Cross Academy, Kaien Cross, who is an ex-vampire hunter that now wishes for vampires and humans to live alongside peacefully. She has grown up and become a prefect for the school with one main purpose: for vampires to coexist peacefully with humans. Her fellow guardian, Zero Kiryu, a childhood companion whose parents were killed by a pure-blood vampire, is now determined to kill them all and refuses to trust them. Zero himself is now manifesting vampire traits, having been turned into vampire after he was bitten by a pure-blood vampire, Shizuka Hio, four years before.

Yuki tries to help him fight his bloodlust while also seeking to recover the memories she lost. As the series progresses, Zero's thirst for blood leads to his drinking from Yuki, by her consent, to avoid becoming a level E vampire. To stop this, Kaname gives Zero his own blood, making him a normal vampire which will prevent Zero from going insane and from needing to feed from Yuki. Eventually, it is revealed that Yuki is a pureblood vampire herself, the sister and fiancee of Kaname. To save Yuki from being killed by Rido Kuran, Kaname's uncle, her mother had sealed her memories shortly before her own death. After Yuki reawakens to her vampire nature, Rido again tries to kill her. As Kaname kills the vampire senate, Yuki fights Rido. During a fierce battle, Zero aids her in killing him, but later on tells her he will have to kill her one day.

RESULT:

VAMPIRE KNIGHT = WIN
Twilight = fail

-------------------------------------

6. HANA YORI DANGO (1997)

the hana yori dango's storyline is so famous it's translated in different alternate versions over Asian countries, such as 'meteor garden' in Taiwan, and 'Boys over Flowers' in South Korea.

The story revolves on Tsukushi Makino, a high schooler on Eitoku Academy, a very famous school in Japan (fictional) to which she was kind of 'forced' by her parents to go to that school.
one thing though, Tsukushi is not rich as that school caters rich students, they may be sons and daughters from big companies, large stocks and firms, like that kind of rich. hence, Tsukushi was forced by her parents so that she can seduce some rich men and take her and her parents out of poverty.

Here, the 'Flower four' or F4, composed of the four sons of wealthiest family in japan comes into play. they are highly respected and mostly admired by the high school students because they are 'cute, handsome, and theyare actually the men to sparkle (they are humans and this anime doesn't have eccentric beings like half-cooked vamps, it's actually a high school real-based anime) for being very handsome.)
however, the leader of the F4, doumnyouji, seems very arrogant and OCCASIONALLY bullies students. no, not the typical bullying like taking things and making the bullied person kneel, they have unique ways of sticking 'red tag' on the person's locker, declaring a war and all---
which means the one they bullied can fight back. the reason they bully is if someone insults their 'high throne' then that someone gets his/her red tag.
the red tag kind was like, since the F4 is so famous in school that once the person gets a red tag from them, the entire high school students will follow the F4's footsteps, making more of that person's life miserable.

Imagine if you alone against the entire high school students, that even classmates would turn against you, make you feel invisible, or not important, you get the drift.

Tsukushi doesn't hold back, and proves herself that she can par up with Doumnyouji (she actually hit him, enough for Doumnyouji to take her special notice, the entire high school took notice seeing a common girl punching a rich guy, and were shock and awed and all). soon enough with more plots unfolding, Doumnyouji became attracted to Tsukushi for the reason of:
1. tsukushi doesn't hold back
2. tsukushi have a lot of high esteem that she's not appeased with arrogant and rich people, you know, people who prides money over reasons.
3. the plot comes unfolding for more reasons.

RESULT:
Hana Yori Dango = WIN
Twilight = fail

--------------------

7. Cheeky Angel (2001)

a very funny romantic comedy anime---Megumi Amatsuka is beautiful, pretty, but she has a secret!

when Megumi was nine years old, she was actually a GUY, and during that age, being a typical boy-rampant, loud and wild, he bullies and beats other kids and other bullies for his notion that he wants to be a physically-strong guy.
an old lady gave him a book which is magical and it turned him into a GIRL.

Only Megumi and the girl who was along with her during that time, Miki Hanakain, knows that she was a guy. all facts about Megumi, like her parents knowing her as a girl and the rest of the people who knows her sees and really says she's a girl, no one remembered that she was once a guy except Miki.

of course, she still harbors that thought being a guy along with MIki but, there are also high school guys around and, yes the plot becomes fully lively.;)

This is something Twilight can never hope to do.

RESULT:
Cheeky Angel = WIN
Twilight = fail

------------------

8. Spice and Wolf (2008)

Spice and Wolf's story revolves around Kraft Lawrence, a traveling merchant who peddles various goods from town to town to make a living in a stylized historical setting with European influences. His main goal in life is to gather enough money to start his own shop, and he already has been traveling for seven years while gaining experience in the trade. One night when stopped at the town of Pasroe, he finds in his wagon a pagan wolf-deity girl named Holo. She appears to be an average girl, except for a wolf's tail and ears. She introduces herself as the town's goddess of harvest, who has kept it blessed with good harvests of wheat for many years. Despite having the responsibility to watch over the town, she wants to go back to her homeland in the north called Yoitsu; she believes the people have already forsaken her and that she has kept her promise to maintain the good harvests. Holo wants also to travel to see how the world has changed while she has remained in one place for years.
She manages to bargain her way out of the village by making a deal with Lawrence to take her with him. As they travel, her wisdom helps increase his profits, but at the same time, her true nature draws unwanted attention from the church.
Throughout the story, the two slowly fall in love.

RESULT:
Spice and WOlf = WIN
Twilight = FAIL
-------------------------------------

9. Seto No Hanayome (Alternate Title: My Bride is A Mermaid) (2007)

The story revolves around a young teenage boy named Nagasumi Michishio. One day during his summer vacation, Nagasumi was saved from drowning by a mermaid, Sun Seto, in the Seto Inland Sea. However, under mermaid law, if a mermaid's identity as a mermaid has been revealed, either the mermaid who was involved or the human who saw the mermaid are to be killed. In an attempt to save both Nagasumi and Sun's lives, Sun's family, which is apparently the head of its own mob, reluctantly decides that the two are to be married.

Gozaburu, Sun's father, however, is enraged about his daughter running off and getting married, especially to a human whom he deems inferior. Between Gozaburu's attempts on his life and the madcap antics of a whole slew of antagonists - including the daughter of a rival mobster and a rich male transfer student with an attraction for Sun - Nagasumi is not enjoying a very smooth transition into his new lifestyle.
HENCE, the way this whole romantic comedy unfolded with its entire chaos and mayhem mixed in notion of Sun and Nagasumi's pre-arranged marriage, comes the notion of how they really value each other...and that is the essence of LOVE.

RESULT:
Seto No Hanayome = WIN
Twilight = FAIL

-----------------------------------

10. Karin (alternate title: Chibi Vampire) (2006)

Karin Maaka is the middle child in a family of vampires who immigrated to Japan two centuries earlier. Unlike the rest of her family, Karin does not feed on blood, she produces it. As a result, she is forced to bite others to expel the extra blood, lest she suffer exaggerated nose-bleeds. She also exhibits no normal vampire traits, and instead lives her life just as an ordinary teenage girl would. She can go outside during the day, attends high school, and follows the sleep pattern of normal humans. However, the general peacefulness of her life is disrupted with the arrival of a new transfer student, Kenta Usui.

Any time she goes near him her blood increases. At first she tries to avoid him but they are in the same class and work in the same restaurant. Kenta begins to think that there is something fishy about Karin and eventually he learns her secret. Karin's elder brother Ren tries to erase his memory but Anju, Karin's younger sister, stops him from doing so.

Karin and Kenta become friends, and as they spend more time with on another, fall in love, though they are slow to admit their feelings to one another.

RESULT:
Karin = WIN
Twlight = FAIL

--------------------------------------

11. Lovely Complex (2007)

a love story between a boy and a girl. The girl, Risa Koizumi, is 172 centimetres (5 ft 8 in) tall-much taller than the average Japanese girl. The boy, Atsushi Otani, is 156 cm (5 ft 1 in)-way below the height of the average Japanese boy. Because of this, they are called the "All Hanshin Kyojin" after a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference.

During summer school, a very tall student named Ryouji Suzuki (from another class) shows up and Risa immediately falls for him, as she has had bad luck with boys in the past because she is tall. There is a girl that Atsushi likes as well, so Risa and Atsushi decide to put aside their differences and help each other get their love interests. But as they get to know each other better, Risa's feelings for Atsushi begin to blossom, and her love life gets complicated from there.

RESULT:
Lovely Complex = WIN
Twilight = FAIL

-------------------------------------

12. Fruits Basket (2001)

The story follows the life of high-school student Tohru Honda, who was recently orphaned when her mother, Kyoko Honda, died in a car accident. After that, Tohru lived with her grandfather, but when his house needs remodeling, Tohru resorts to living in a tent in a forest and holds down a job to support herself. Despite suffering many hardships, Tohru remains optimistic.

One day, Tohru comes upon a house in the forest that is the home of her classmate Yuki Sohma and his cousin Shigure Sohma. When the Sohmas discover that Tohru is living in a tent, they are quite surprised by her inner strength. The entire area is Sohma property, and Tohru asks to be allowed to stay in her tent, but then collapses because of a fever brought on by working too hard. A landslide buries her tent, including her mother's picture and school clothes, and she moves into Shigure's house for the night. Desperate for a break from the filth of the house and takeaway meals, she is asked to become a permanent guest in the house, if she cooks and cleans. She accepts, and is being shown her room by Yuki when Kyo Sohma bursts in (through the roof) to challenge Yuki. Tohru, not knowing Yuki's strength, tries to stop Kyo by grabbing him, and as a result he transforms into a cat. She is then hit on the head with a plank of wood, and collapses into Shigure and Yuki, turning them into a dog and rat respectively.

Tohru discovers the Sohma family's secret, and the reason why Yuki is so private and secretive at school: thirteen members of the family are possessed by the 12 animal spirits of the Chinese Zodiac plus the spirit of the cat who was, according to legend, left out of the Zodiac. They transform into animals when hugged by the opposite sex or when put under a great deal of emotional or physical stress (such as being sick). When she promises to keep their secret, the Sohmas allow Tohru to keep her memories rather than hypnotically erasing them, a fate that had previously befallen anyone not "Inside" the Sohma family who had discovered the secret.

The story follows the lives of Tohru and the Sohma family, as they deal with each other and a society where neither quite fits in, as well as the feared Akito Sohma, head of the Sohma family. Soon, after living with the Sohma family she began to like, then love, all of the Sohmas, and sets out to break the zodiac curse; and at the same time, a complex of love proportions goes haywire.

Fruits Basket = WIN

Hence, the final statement here is that, in any year, and in any day, Twilight is NOTHING compared to any anime titles, as seen with some anime examples I've given that were made starting from 1996. STILL, anime began even in the 1970's, with more than 8,000 anime titles streaming around from the past to the present and of course, the future.
