A (sort of) free verse poem I wrote. Hope you enjoy.

When he looks at her, her heart sinks. She believes she will never be good enough. She tries so hard, though. She tries to work past every finite flaw so she might one day be perfect. But perfection is far what she is from. On the exterior, she is beautiful, stunning. Her smile can light up the room. But on the inside, she is broken, shattered. She has forgotten how to feel. Depriving herself of food, crying herself to sleep every night without the world knowing, feeling completely alone in a room full of people. She is unhappy. She is ripping her own world apart with her insecurities. She is going mad. She no longer knows how to love, how to smile, how to laugh. She is drowning in her insecurities. She wants to breathe, but can't. She strives to get back up and falls down so easily. She walks the Earth without knowing her purpose. She feels unimportant.

What started as love for him turned into madness within herself. And every night when she cries over him, she will never know, he is thinking of her.
