So, I got this new idea for a story. I know I haven't updated in a while with a few of my other stories, but that's because I had quite a bit of things to settle out in my life. SO, I WILL be continuing 'Unfair Love' but that's the only one other then this one. The other stories I have written need some work. Anyway check this out and tell me what you think about it. If you like it, I'll continue it :). (PS. I know the name 'Dylan McCoy' probably sounds familiar, but I Promise you I thought of this. That name somehow poped to mind, so I decided that it was perfect for my new character, BUT. Until you read further into the story you won't know the rest ;)
I don't mind criticism, but I will NOT tolerate bashing like "Your story SUCKS!!. You should do us a favor and seriously stop writing!." That's uncalled for. I want your help to IMPROVE my story not make me feel so bad that I wouldn't even want to think about posting again. So other then that can't wait to hear what you think!.
Thanks to PHSYCHOninjaKITTY for the suggestion, it really helped believe it or not lol.
Chapter 1: Odd Day..
As the sun’s rays shone through my dark indigo curtains, I squinted and shielded my eyes from the harsh summer sun. I turned around several times in discomfort when I decided to just settle on turning away from the sun. Once my back was turned, my eyes felt comfortable again.
I was starting to fall asleep again when I felt the heat on my back rising from the sun.
Glaring at nothing in particular, I decided to just give up and surrender.
I sat up stretching my arms out and yawning, I pulled back the blanket and sat on the side of my bed. Stretching my legs as well. Wondering what time it was I looked up across from my bed to look at the clock that hung loosely on the wall and strained my eyes to see the time. Once I got a somewhat accurate time guess, I realized it was somewhere around seven am in the morning. I thought for a moment and sighed when I realized it was Saturday and I didn’t have to worry about school. Thank god for Saturdays.
Glancing around my room, I wasn’t ‘looking’ for anything per say. It was kind of a habit.
After looking around the room, my stare rested on my window. I found myself glaring at the sun’s rays
That were shining their way through. Loathing the sun at the moment, I forced myself to stand up and walk towards my bathroom to get ready to go down stairs.
15 something minutes later I made my way out of the bathroom. A familiar scent hitting my nose causing my stomach to churn and lurch due to hunger, my stomach made an embarrassing growling noise, I was just glad no one was there to hear it. I took that as my cue to get something to eat, basically find the source of that beautiful smell.
Exiting my room, I entered the hallway. Surprisingly enough, the hallway was vacant. Shrugging, I started down stairs. The smell was getting stronger and stronger with every step I took, which in return didn’t surprise me that my stomach got louder too.
Standing on the last step of the stairs, the kitchen came into view, thus letting me see the source of the smell. My aunt, back facing me, over by the stove making her homemade pancakes. If you could taste them you’d be salivating too.
Smiling, I walked into the kitchen. Walking up behind my aunt I gave her a small hug, which in return surprised her a little, seeing as she didn’t see me enter. Or hear me for that matter. I was always called the ‘mouse’ of the house. Glancing around the kitchen I noted that my three cousins and little brother, were not present.
“Aunt Anetta, where are Krissy and them? did I actually beat them up!” I asked my aunt, referring to my cousins. With my last sentence I started gloating. My cousins always had a tendency to ‘beat’ me up, no pun intended.
With my newfound glory, I failed to hear what my aunt was saying. I only caught the last sentence.
“But they should be in, in a bit.” She finished calmly stirring the pancake batter.
“So, their, outside?” I questioned slowly, only guessing that that was what she had said.
“Correct dear” She answered.
“Oh.” Well I’m a retard. “Ok, so, what exactly ‘are’ they doing?” I prodded further.
“Sweetheart, their kids, there’s only one thing they could be doing.” She giggled, smiling over her shoulder at me.
“What?” I questioned dumbly. It was painfully obvious, but for some reason I wasn’t really thinking straight this morning.
Laughing a little she answered me, “Playing dear, playing.” She smiled. She was always a little too patient with me sometimes.
“Oh, sorry for asking so many questions.” I felt somewhat guilty for throwing so many things at her, bad enough about 6 years ago I was literally thrown at her.
“It’s fine dear, I don’t mind. Now why don’t you go bring them in? Breakfast is almost done.” She smiled yet again, dumbfounded I looked over to where the baking pan lay, and there sat several pancakes neatly stacked on each other. Wow she’s fast. I thought staring at the pancakes, as if they had me in a trance. I imagine any normal person would look at me and think something was wrong, I’m pretty sure I looked awfully retarded just staring at pancakes. But for some reason I couldn’t tear my gaze away.
“Amalia?” I heard the soft concern from my aunt.
Finally snapping out of my gaze, I turned towards her. “Yes?” I asked, although already knowing what she was concerned about.
“Are you okay? you looked out of it for a few minutes. Did you get enough sleep?” She prodded. A true look of concern on her soft features.
“I’m fine, just tired I guess.” That was somewhat of a lie. Seeing as I wasn’t tired, but I was still out of it. Yet I felt fine at the same time.
“Okay, if you say so. Now for your cousins and brother.” She reverted back to her smile.
“Sure no problem.” I returned her smile, jogging out the door I heard the familiar giggles and laughs from both my brother and cousins.
Turning a corner they came into view. All four halted.
“Amalia!” The youngest one, Mickey, other known as ‘Makayla’ squealed happily running over to me.
Running up to me she grabbed onto my pants leg. I reached down and hugged her. Looking up to my two other cousins and my brother I gestured for them to follow me. Shrugging they complied following me. Of course Mickey was hanging onto me for dear life.
Entering the house, I looked over to the table to see 6 plates set for us all. Smiling I retreated over to where I usually sit, Mickey not far behind.
As fast as I sat down, I immediately started eating.
A good 30 minutes later we were all full and content, the kids started running back out side along with a hesitant Mickey, I touched her shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile to let her know it was okay to go. She gave me a wide smile, hugged me as tight as she could and took off.
Well today is going to be a looooong day.
Sorry it’s short but chapter 2 should be out VERY soon :). Not to mention I think chapter 2 will be A LOT more interesting lol. It kind of digs deeper into the every day life of amalia. And Sid comes into the picture yay! Lol.
