“No you didn’t. Not completely.” Corazon said, after a moment’s pause. “You saved us. That means that there’s hope for everyone else. As long as even one person remains, that one person is the light of hope that shines in the eyes of those who have not given up. Even if everyone does give up, that one person still shines as hope. As long as there is hope, there is a chance.”
“How can you make hope a reality?” Twilight asked.
“You made it a reality,” Corazon said. “When you defeated the Bandaa and returned the DTD’s.”
Twilight smiled.
“Corazon,” Giselle said. “I’ve never heard you talk like that. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Corazon replied. “I just never thought you guys would understand. I have all of these emotions and things in my heart, but I never tell anyone unless I think they’ll understand.” She glanced at Twilight. “I think Twilight was like that once. I can see it in his eyes. All dreamers have this thing about them, where you can just tell that they dream, or used to dream.”
“I never knew you were so deep.” Tia said.
“I didn’t really want you to know.” Corazon replied.
“Why not?” Felicia asked.
“Because I was afraid of how you would react and that you wouldn’t want to be my friends anymore.” Corazon slowly said.
“If you’re afraid of losing someone’s friendship for being who you are, then he, or she is not your friend.” Dienna told Corazon.
“And we are all your friends, no matter what.” Giselle said.
“Don’t ever be afraid to tell us anything.” Tia added. “If we dump you because of what you said, then it’s our problem, and not yours.”
“Thanks.” Corazon quietly said.
“Well, now that that’s taken care of,” Twilight changed the subject. “I suppose you all will be wanting to know details about the trip.” Everyone agreed in her own way. “All right. We should land at the port tomorrow sometime. You all can go out and buy necessities. We should be docked for about a week, if my calculations are correct. So, you may want to find something to keep yourselves busy if you don’t want to help me with the repairs.”
“When will we go home?” Giselle asked.
“I don’t know.” Twilight replied. Then he quickly changed the subject. “I’ll show you to your rooms.”
He led them to a door on one side of the room. He opened it and let the girls in first. Then he went in and pressed a set of buttons. The room dematerialized and materialized.
“It’s like an elevator.” Felicia observed.
“Yes, but much more convenient and fast.” Twilight replied as he stepped out of the room. “Okay, the doors on the right take you to your rooms. They’re fairly small and only have room for a few things. You’ve got a bed, a shower, and a bureau. I wouldn’t leave anything out lose because if we had to take off suddenly, everything would be jostled around. Oh, and, uh,” He had remembered something very important. “The gravity on the ship is set for Earth’s normal gravitation. The port uses the standard, which is a little heavier than this, and the planet we’re going to is heavier than the spaceport. Not by much, but by enough to make a difference. So, enjoy the weightlessness while you can.” Smiling, he went back to the control room.
“So,” Tia said as everyone was left staring at each other. “Who gets what room?”
“I call this one!” Corazon said, reaching for the third door down.
Then Tia grabbed the first door. While Dienna ran for the fifth, and Giselle went for the second, Corazon opened the door to her room. As soon as she stepped into the room, the lights came on. It was very compact, as Twilight had warned.
Directly to the right of the door was the bed. The bed was pressed lengthwise against the wall. Next to the bed, and facing towards the wall that was to the left of the door, was a bureau. There was also a door directly across from the door Corazon had just opened. The room was much more compact than Corazon had expected.
She walked over to the other door and pulled it open. The lights came on as they had before. This was obviously the bathroom. There was a sink to Corazon’s right, a toilet after that and a very small shower after the toilet. So much for a long, soothing, hot bath, Corazon thought as she left the bathroom.
She walked over to the bed and tried it out. It was much more comfortable than her old one. Thinking of her old bed reminded her of home and her family. It also reminded her that she liked to listen to music before she fell asleep. Corazon didn’t need music this time. The whole eventful afternoon had made her very tired, and Corazon was asleep in no time.
“Corazon,” Someone whispered gently. “Corazon. Wake up! Dinner’s ready.”
“Hmm?” Corazon asked as she sat up in bed. “Did I fall asleep?”
“You bet you did.” Giselle was standing next to her. “Dinner’s ready and Twilight told me to come get you.”
“Not much.” Giselle said as they turned to go eat their dinner. “We found out that everyone’s room is the same and that the beds are apparently very comfortable for you.”
“I just couldn’t resist.” Corazon said as they walked into the ‘elevator’.
“Let’s see.” Giselle said. “I think it was 346637.” She punched the numbers as she said them.
“Twilight told you how to work it?” Corazon asked.
“Yeah, he showed all of us while you were sleeping. You know how on a telephone there are letters above each of the numbers?”
“Well, just think of it as a telephone, and then push the numbers that make up the word of where you want to go. If you put in a word related to food, or cooking, it’ll take you to the dining area. You type in a word that pertains to what you want to do, and that it will take you to where you want to go. The more specific you are, the better.”
By then they had rematerialized and had entered the dining room.
