Blue skies, dimmed by the shadows of morning. Black everywhere; tears and flowers. All flowing together in a blur. They stand aside from everyone else. Holding onto each other just to stay connected to the world before them watching the sadness of others for the loss they came to send off into the land of the passing.
The air is warm and a breeze that dried the tears streaming clan faces. "…As we say our goodbye to the men…" The priest drowned on in the background. Praising the life of a man he had never known. Sending him off with words of beauty to be judged before god. The casket was lowered as the priest said a prayer. The warmth and light of the day belied the emotions, flowing through the air. "Loving father, Devoted husband, Respected Man." His grave stone. Such simple words that held so many lies. But most of his story was unheard. Probably why there were so many tears of sadness.
Rayne laid a rose upon his grave. Said goodbye. Seth looked into her face and wiped away the single tear running down her cheek. He held onto her hand as they walked away. Maybe one day people will know what happened. Seth stepped forward and hugged Rayne. He whispered in her ear as he held her. "All we have to do is tell the story."-
