When I got to school I quickly ducked into first period.
Of course no one noticed I was late.
I doubted any of them had even noticed I wasn't there the other day.
I put my homework on the teachers desk and then took my seat.
It was then, as I was sitting down, that I noticed him looking at me.
He was captain of the football team.
He had dark brown hair and big brown eyes. His face was perfect and slender. And his body was rockhard and fabulous of course.
Why is he looking at me?
He looked concerned.
He had never looked at me before.
I looked down quickly and avoided him for the rest of the class, although I could feel his eyes on me.
As soon as the bell rang I jumped up and rushed out of class. Then I felt someone's hand clamp onto the shoulder my mom had nearly broken and I cried out in pain.
"I'm sorry" the person said releasing my shoulder.
I turned around to see the captain of the football team there. What was his name? Like nobody bothered to remember my name I didn't bother to remember any of their names. I turned around and started back down the hall. Like I said I wasn't a very trusting person.
"Angel" he said.
I stopped and turned around. "You know my name?" I whispered. I had barely ever talked at school.
He nodded. "Come outside with me?" he asked reaching out his hand to me.
I shook my head. "I can't" I murmered.
"I don't know who does this to you, but i'm not going to" he murmered.
I looked down at my feet, not knowing what to do. How could I trust him?
"Look I think that you are beautiful and I want to get to know you more" he said taking me by surprise.
I felt myself blushing. Nobody had ever called me beautiful. EVER. Maybe he was different. Little did I know I was getting myself into something I was NOT ready for. "Ok" I said allowing him to take my hand and lead me outside.
We sat down on one of the benches, but I sat a little away from him.
He looked over at me and smiled. "Fine" he said scooting over to me.
I looked at him and then down at my wearing out shoes.
I jumped away when he touched my jaw lightly with his finger.
"Angel...do you parents do this to you?" he asked lightly.
I didn't look at him but instead I jumped up. "I have to go. Second period is starting" I said rushing off.
He caught up to me. "Angel please just talk to me" he said.
"I have nothing to talk about" I said.
"I wouldn't call that nothing to talk about" he said grabbing my hand and holding it gently in his.
I stopped and looked over at him. Eric! That was his name. "Look Eric. I don't know you good enough to tell you anything" I said.
"You need to go to the hospital" he murmered totally ignoring what I was saying.
"I can't. If my parents figured out that I skipped school and went to the hospital they would kill me" I murmered.
"So it is your parents doing this to you?" he said.
I looked up quickly. I hadn't realized I had said that. "I have to go" I said once again as the bell rang. Then I hurried to my class.
I couldn't stop thinking about Eric.
Why was he all of a sudden so interested in me?
The girl that came to school with ugly bruises all over her everyday.
The one that wore the same clothes everyday.
Me.
