I looked into his eyes and said "ok". He smiled at me and then we heard a knock on the door. He went to go open it and my mom came and sat down next to me on the couch. She looks at me and goes "Ben can you leave us alone please". He nods his head and leaves out. I sat there and kept staring at the ground. Then she lifts up my chin and says "I'm sorry baby for what you went through also you did a great thing for calling Ben baby I love you if anything happened I wouldn't know what to do". I flung my arms around her and let the tears run down my face freely. We leave out the house and tell Ben good bye.

1 month later Court day

I sat in my seat fidgeting. I felt Daren's eyes glaring at me I turned my head and and a smile crept across his face. I turn my head back forward. Ben whispers in my ear "baby just ignore him okay". He kisses my cheek and from the corner of my eye Ben's smile left. My mom goes "don't talk when Daren testifies and wait till it's your turn to talk. I breathed in and out. The judge walks in and she goes Mr.Coberson please question Mr. Patterson. Daren walks up to the stand and sits down. My lawyer goes "Daren is it true that you slapped my client then grabbed her by her throat and slammed her against the wall then you took out this knife which has your name on it .. "But" Daren until my lawyer interupts him and says answer the question. "No I did not touch her in any way". I wanted to scream but I remembered my moms words. Then Daren's lawyer stands up and says "objection your honor he's scaring my client in which with dealing with teens you have to talk to them not like adults". Then judge tells my lawyer to sit down my lawyer grits his teeth.

Then the judge calls me up to the stand and Daren's lawyer with the big nose goes "Ms.Turner now you said my client grabbed you by your throat". "Yes"."So just out of no where he decides hmmm I'll just grab her throat today". "No I got a call from Ben and he slaps me then when I tried to leave out he grabs me by my hairs and drags me upstairs and threw me against the wall". "Yeah and didn't you have a cellphone". "yeah and I called Ben". "Yes but how do we know that those bruise wasn't from your abusive father". Because Ben saw them and.." "And did you place Ben as your witness". "no I said submissively". "Then we have no evidence now dow we". The smile crept across Daren's face until I stood up and said "Look I am tired of being pushed around he beat me and we have the knife to prove it with his hand marks just because I don't have a witness does not mean I can't speak up for my self also what could I possibly want from the lights of him."

Then the judge bangs her baliff. And screams "order order". The whole court room drew silent then she says "this case was very interesting but Ms.Turner do to not enough evidence Daren is free to go. My heart sank and I began to cry I ran to the hallway. Then Daren came out and whispers in my ear harshly "you will pay". I began to kick him and hit him until they grabbed me off of him. Ben holds me and I'm struggling until I gave up and began to cry. When we got home I ran up to my room. I layed on my bed and began to cry in the deep heart of the night.
