Prologue
A beautiful melody was being played again. You might think that this lovely piece was heard from a musical instrument but it was not. The music was flowing from a pocket watch, a very ordinary silver pocket watch. Just another piece of time device you see in stores. But to one lady, this device brought her memories - memories of tears, joy, happiness and sorrow. And on this day, this gorgeous lady was sitting by the window, listening to the melody once more. Again, she was indulging in her past, her dreams, her everything.
“Mommy, why’d you cryin?” A ten-year old Mara asked, stumbling towards her mother.
“Oh honey, I am not crying. What you see are tears of joy. I am just reminiscing some moments of my life.” The lady lifted her daughter onto her lap.
“But Mommy, why’d you always look at tis watch?” Mara eyed the pocket watch with a child’s curiosity.
“Darling, I can’t really explain to you now. You won’t understand. When the time is right, I promise to tell my Mara everything okay?”
“Okey... It’s a pomise then!” Mara held out her last finger to hook with her mother’s.
