RHIANNON
Okay those minutes of fun were totally not worth this. She made me clean up the linoleum with an old rag and a bucket with water and cleaning solution.
"I hope you learn your lesson and be thankful I don't make you replace the carpet from your allowance and with your own hands." She was getting the entire carpet replaced because the stains wouldn't come out completely.
"When you're done you can go to your room. Martha here is going to watch you and make sure that you leave the place impeccable." She left the kitchen to go supervise the men who were installing the carpet, not because she really cared of whether they had any complications or not. It was because she wanted to make sure they left it perfect and stole nothing. I looked up at Martha from the floor and made my puppy eyes that always worked on her.
"Martha, can you help me? I have no idea how to do this."
"I'm sorry Rhiannon, honey, but your mom gave me strict orders to not help you or she would fire me. I really need this job, I have no where else to go. I'm really sorry."
"I understand." I said rolling my eyes at her and getting back at cleaning up the floor. I didn't understand why my cute face didn't work this time, but it bugged me.
Two hours later I was finally done. It would've been so much easier if the mud wouldn't have had time to dry up.
"Done." I told my mom.
"Go clean wash up you look horrible. I hope you learned your lesson."
"Yea sure." I said. I went up to my room got my pj and went to shower. I had to get some sleep because tomorrow I would probably be loaded with questions. I had never in my life missed a single day of school and I wanted to think of what I was going to say.
................................................................................................................................................
"Rhiannon! Why didn't you come to school yesterday?" Was the first thing Destiny asked "And I told you I would go to your house on Wednesday but when I went your mom said you hadn't gotten home... Where were you?"
"Well, make up your mind. Which question do you want me to answer first?" I asked with my nose stuck in my locker redoing my make up on the magnetic mirror.
"Both of them would be nice."
"I'll only answer one and the one I want to answer. I didn't come because I didn't feel like coming. Happy?"
"Rhiannon, what's wrong with you?"
"Don't ever ask that to a beautiful girl. It's pretty obvious I'm beautiful and that gives me control of pretty much anything."
"If you say so." She said with a smile.
"And what I want you to do is to stop being annoying and get the hell out of my face." I said slamming my locker door. Her smile quickly faded. "Did you hear me, or are you deaf?"
"Yea, I heard you. You know what? I'll just catch you in class."
"Yea, whatever." I felt powerful treating people like as if they were less than me. And I would continue doing it.
"Destiny, wait. I'm sorry for that, I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed." I said. I was going to play a game with her whether she wanted to or not. "Do you know where Paul is?"
"It's ok. Yea why?"
"I need to talk to him."
"About?"
"School work. That science project we got last week. I didn't fully understand it, and well your class is still not in that lesson just yet so I can't even ask you."
"Paul is in the cafeteria."
"Will you come with me?"
"Well you know I'll make any excuse to see Paul."
"Great! Let's go." Poor naive girl. I knew she idolized me and would believe and do anything I told her. We went to the cafeteria and sure as hell Paul was there. I told Destiny to wait for me beside the door while I talked to Paul. Paul like always was surrounded by all his football playing friends, so the first thing to do was get him away. That would be an easy task.
I walked up to him and said "Hi."
"Rhiannon, hey. I heard you didn't come to school yesterday."
"It's a long story, don't worry about it. Hey do you think we could talk alone?"
"Of course." He faced his possey and announced that he would be stepping away for a few minutes. We walked towards an empty part of the cafeteria and I could feel Destiny's pretty green eyes looking at me so I made sure to face away from her.
"So what do you need?"
"I need help with that science project we got last week. Do you know how to do it?"
"Of course, I'm willing to help any girl as beautiful as you." He said with a huge smile. I had him in my grasp, and now he was my toy.
"And you know what else I need?"
"What is it? You ask and I'll make any one of your dreams come true."
"Well for starters I could make any of my dreams come true by my self. But the one I really can't get is for you to viciously attack me with kisses." I said in a seducing way.
"Really now?"
"Of course, but since I know you won't want to I'll just leave." I spun around quickly to look at Destiny. She was still looking at us. I took one step and suddenly felt his grip on my arm reminding me of what happened on Wednesday, the only difference was that now I had the advantage. He savagely pulled me against his body and feircely began kissing me. I pulled away acting suprised and mad and I smacked him across the face. I pushed him away from me and I turned around in time to see destiny run out of the cafeteria covering her face. I looked back at Paul who was astonished. I smiled and then ran after Destiny. I found her in the restrooms beside the cafeteria. I went in and heard sobbing and sniffing coming from inside one of the stalls.
"Destiny?"
"Rhiannon, leave me alone."
"Destiny, I'm sorry. I wish you wouldn't have seen that." She popped out of the stall furiously and went to wash her face in the sink.
"Destiny, I'm so sorry. You know I know how much you like him. Destiny it wasn't my fault, he attacked me."
"I know Rhiannon. And I also know very well that your the one he wants and yet I keep feeding this hope that one day he'll look at me and realize that I'm the one he's really looking for." I found this fun. It was like a bad game to me where I got to control everything and I guessed that in a way that was what I needed.
The day passed by and when I got home I had a voicemail from Rowan waiting for me. My mother would be out working all night so I could go out with Rowan or stay here and talk which reminded me of the reason I had called her yesterday.
"The guy knew my name." I told her when we went back to the cafe' anywhere
"I wonder how? Have you ever seen the guy anywhere?"
"No, I'm sure of that."
We talked about it all afternoon without getting to any conclusion. That created more to talk about when we met up after school. For the next two weeks she had been showing me things I never knew about. On a weekend I claimed to be staying at Destiny's house when in reality, I was sleeping in Rowan's house going out everywhere we could go including a rockstar concert where everyone randomly began throwing punches and kicks. She told me her husband was to be gone for a whole month along with both of her daughters.
"They must be very pretty." I had told her "considering that the mother is". I had also asked her how old they were but she had only said one is seventeen and the other one is two years older than her. I guessed she had meant to say seventeen months and that the other one was two years older than the youngest one. Two full weeks went by and I had raised hell in over half of the school that I, the great Rhiannon had been called up to the Principle's office. Fortunately I could also control the principle and this was something Destiny noticed and did not like. And yet she was loyal to me so I stopped playing games with her. And only she knew what I was really doing or atleast she thought she knew.
