I woke up and looked around. I’m never drinking again I promised myself. My head was about to explode and I got up for my morning puke. Leaning with my head on the cool seat I figured it was time to go to a doctor. It wasn’t the drink that made me sick. I’ve been feeling crappy for days on end. Landon leaving didn’t help either.
I crawled to my bed and was momentarily startled to find two other bodies in my bed. It took a few seconds to recognise Shay and Hadley. My whole apartment reeked of tequila. Bloody Shay. Why always Tequila? Can’t she drink something normal like wine? She always has to go overboard.
We slept for a few hours more then Hadley woke me up.
“Come on” she said “Lets eat”
I ran to the bathroom and puked ONCE AGAIN. “Stop mentioning food around me” I said “Have you no sympathy?”
“That’s it!” Shay said “Get dressed. I’m taking you to the doctor. You can’t be sick for more than a week. Come on”
I couldn’t refuse to go along with them because I had no energy left. They helped me into my clothes and bundled me in the back of Shay’s busted vehicle. All the way to the doctor, I was thinking about Landon. How could he do this to me? What did I do wrong. We were so perfect together. I was convinced we would get married and live happily ever after. I missed him so much already. How was I supposed to cope without him? He hasn’t even been gone for one day and I’m already losing it.
We got to the parking lot and went straight to the receptionist. The gum-chewing girl didn’t even look up when asking “Can I help you?”
“Yeah, my friend is sick and she needs to see the doctor” Hadley replied. I started filling out the forms and sat down after I finished.
I was still dreaming about Landon when the girl said I could go in. I got up and walked to the door she pointed to. Dr Anderson sat behind his desk and smiled at me.
“Miss Wilson, please have a seat”
I sat down on the coffee-coloured chairs.
“What seems to be the problem?” he asked
“Well, I’ve been throwing up for more than a week. I’m dizzy and confused.”
“I see” he said and asked me to lie down.
After probing me half to death and looking here and there, he gave me a plastic cup to wee in. After the nearly impossible task, I handed the cup back and sat down. He tested my wee with all sorts of tests and smiled while he sat back down.
“Miss Wilson, I have good news. You seem to be very pregnant. At least four weeks.”
