Hunter wrapped his arms around me and spun us around. "I missed you so much!" I cried into his uniform.

"I missed you too." He said burying his head in my shoulder.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming home?" I sniffled pulling my head out to look at him.
"I wanted it to be a Christmas surprise." He smirked kissing me head.
"This is the best." I smiled as he dropped my feet on the ground.
"Hunter?" TJ asked. They did there man hug.
"Hey Bro." Hunter smiled. I think the height different is kind of funny. TJ was a Dad really. Same face, same eyes, same personality, same built. He was about 6'2, which isn't bad. But Hunter on the other hand, is different. When Hunter turned about 13 Mom told him he is really her brother. It took him a long time to get used to it, but even if he is my uncle he will always be my big brother. Hunter looked so intimidating some times. Well all the time. He was a 6 foot 6 ball of muscle. He had black hair and amazing green eyes that could scare you till you live under a rock for the rest of your life. Every muscle was rock hard, but he was a softy. A big teddy bear. Hunter wrapped his arms around my shoulder and pulled me inside to the warmth of the house.
"You know it's not Christmas yet." I smiled laying my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah but Christmas came early this year." He smiled kissing my head. We walked into the kitchen were Mom stood washing a dish in the sink.
"Mom look who I found outside." I smiled she looked around and dropped the dish in the sink. She ran up and hugged Hunter tightly.
"My Baby." She cried out kissing his head. "My baby is home." She smiled blinking her tears away.
"I'm home Momma. I'm home." He smiled burying his head in her shoulder. Asher looked at Hunter and slammed his hands on the table.
"What's up with you cranky?" I asked sitting next to him. He held out his sippy cup to me with that look saying 'I want juice'. I took the cup and filled it up with some apple juice. I gave it back to him and he started to guzzle away at it.
"Who is this little guy?" Hunter asked sitting next to Asher.
"This is Asher; I'm babysitting him for awhile." I said taking a bite of my food.
"He is a cutie." Hunter said shoving food into his mouth. "Hey Ma, do you think I can invite a friend to Christmas?"
"Is it one of your platoon brothers?" She asked taking a drink of her water.
"Yeah, it's Tanner. He is like TJ and me. I have known his since boot camp."
"Doesn't he want to spend time with his family?" TJ asked.
"His mom doesn't like that he joined the marines." He said reaching for the butter for his roll.
"First timer?" I asked.
"Nah I think his Grandpa was one."
"Well he is welcome here whenever he needs some were to stay. Our house is always open." Mom said as I finished off my food.
"Thanks you Ma. I'll call him later." I put my plate in the sink and picked up Asher. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to give Asher a bath then call Emmy." I smiled walking out as my cell phone started to ring. I took it out of my pocket.
Me*Hey Em
Emmy* Hey Ry
Me* Can you hold on one minute
I put my phone on the sink counter. I got the water read in the tub and put some bubbles in it. I sat Asher in the water. I put my phone back to my ear.
Me* Okay sorry I was putting Asher in the bath tub.
Emmy* Don't worry about it. I have a little while before work is done. I'm on dinner break.
Me* Yeah, we got home safe but the roads are really bad.
Emmy* I heard. I have to figure out how to get to your house.
Me* Do you have any were to go to so you don't have to drive?
Emmy* A friend has a house down the road from the Applebee's I work at. I just want to get there so you don't have to watch him tonight.
Me* I can watch him tonight. Do not worry about that. What I am worrying about is you. Please go to that friend's house. I don't want something to happen to you. I want you to be safe.
Emmy* I know and I think your right. A couple of guys came in saying that there is at least 3 feet out there and they keep plowing the roads every hour. It's icy out.
Me* Please stay safe. Don't drive. I will talk to you tomorrow. Asher will be safe with me tonight.
Emmy*Okay I will call you tomorrow. Tell Asher I love him.
Me*Okay I will. Bye
Emmy*Bye.
I hung up my phone and set it back on the counter and looked at Asher. He had a head full of bubbles and was looking at me. "You're staying over here tonight okay Baby?" he looked at me before putting bubbles on my hand and giggling. I washed his hair and cleaned him off before taking him back to the TV room. I dressed him and put him on the floor. I curled up on the couch watching him stand up on the couch. Hunter stood in the door way looking at me. "Hey." He smiled.
"Hey." I smiled. "Come on in." I laughed at him. He sat down and we both watched Asher stumble forward. He got too close to the TV stand that I was about to grab him when he fell, face planting into the shelf. I jumped up and picked him up as he started to cry. "Aw buddy don't cry Shh its okay." I said rubbing his back as I got his pacifier and slipped it into his mouth. Hunter watched me.
"Let me hold him." He said. I handed Asher to him as He laid his head on Hunter's shoulder and held onto this blue t-shirt. I have to admit. Hinter looks good holding a baby………
