Tanner leaned in to kiss me again. "Best of both worlds." He whispered into my lips. I nodded my head laying it gently on Tanner's good shoulder.

"Ryan." I heard. I looked over as Hunter walked over holding Asher who was hugging Hunter close to him with his eyes closed.
"Hey Buddy." Tanner smiled at Asher making him open his eyes and smile.
"Ncle Nanner!" He yelled hugging Tanner tightly. Hunter pulled me to him as Emmy hugged Tanner.
"Hey Sis." He whispered. I wrapped my arms around his neck squeezing him tight.
"I thought you were both gone." I whispered burying my head in his shoulder.
"I know. I let you down." I looked up at him as the tears rolled down my face.
"What do you mean?" I asked looked around the grounds as families slowly started to leave.
"I promised you I wouldn't let him get hurt. But he did. He got hurt. He was saving me." He held me tightly to him I knew he needed the comfort.
"What do you mean Hunter?" He set me back on ground as I pulled him to the truck and put him on the tail gate as I climbed on next to him getting comfortable. I laid a hand on my belly before I looked at Hunter. He had his hands in his lap looking down at his hands. "Hunter?" He looked up at me before he looked down again.
"He took that bullet for me. I should have been shot. I should be dead, but no he took that bullet for me. You should hate me." I put my hand on his arm making him look at me.
"I don't hate you. I can't. You're my big brother. I can't hate you." He shook his head.
"You should hate me." He whispered. I laid my head on his shoulder putting his hand on my big belly. He looked down. "It almost lost its Daddy." He whispered. I put my hand on top of his.
"But they didn't. They have their Daddy and their Uncle too. Isn't that what matters?" He shook his head.
"You don't understand. It's my fault that Tanner was shot." He almost growled at me. I looked up at him from under my eye lashes.
"Am I happy my boyfriend got?" I shook my head. "No I'm not. But I don't hate you. Tanner saved my brother. And I will always be grateful for that. I love you both, and I was so scared that I lost both of you that I nearly lost my own life." Hunter looked over at me shocked.
"You almost died? Why didn't anyone tell us?" He asked rubbing my belly as it kicked.
"No one wanted to worry you. Tanner was hurt, you're not in your right mind. I just wanted you both home safe." I kissed his cheek as Tanner came over with Emmy and my parents. Hunter nodded helping me off the truck bed into Tanner's warm chest. I pressed my lips to his neck.
"I love you." He whispered into my hair.
"I love you too." I smiled. I watched Dad hug Hunter tightly to him, as they showed up a little late because he and Mom had to do something.
"Tanner Lucas Williams." All of us looked over at Tanner's full name. There stood an older looking man, with an older woman next to him. Behind them was a beautiful looking brown haired girl. She smiled gently at us before her face went emotionless. I felt Tanner stiffen under my hand, which was now on the t-shirt he wore; since he couldn't wear his uniform. I looked up at him as his face was stone cold now.
"Mother, Father, Kelsey." He said wrapping his good arm around me tightly, as if protecting me from them. I could feel the look of disgust as his mother stared at me. She was staring down on me. I always hated when people did that. Kelsey, my guess the younger girl behind them, smiled at us.
"Who is this?" His father scoffed at us. I felt his brown eyes burning into my skin as he looked me up and down.
"Father this is my girlfriend Ryan. Ryan this is my Father, Mother, and my sister Kelsey." No one moved as we stared at each other.
"Why are you with her?" His mother asked in disgust. I pressed myself closer to Tanner scared. Tanner gently rubbed his thumb over the soft skin on my arm gently, trying to calm me.
"Do not talk about her like that." He snapped at her. "Never talk about her like that." His Mom rolled her eyes.
"Whatever." She said looking at her husband. "Why are we even here?" She snapped at him. Kelsey looked at me with an apologetic look.
"Well we had some Marines come to our house saying my only let some could be dead. I thought I would come and see if you were alive." I looked at him in disbelief. His son was shot and he couldn't care less. He had a bullet in his arm and he didn't care.
"Thanks Dad. It was nice of you to care." He said sarcastically. I could see his jaw tighten.
"Lease you didn't end up like your Brother hey. But then again, I wish it was Wyatt that was still here and not you. It would make life a lot easier." Tanner stiffened completely frozen in place.
"What the hell is your problem? How could you ever say that to your Son? Your flesh and blood?" I snapped at him. Kelsey stood there with a shocked look on her face as she looked at her father.
"No he is no son of mine. He disowned himself the minute he walked out of the house to go ruin his life." His father snapped at me. Dad stepped over to us putting his hand on Tanner's shoulder.
"You hate your Son, because he became a Marine?" Mom asked him stepping next to Dad.
"Yeah, all I can say is that. You're a piece of crap as a son." He snapped at Tanner.
"Yeah a fucking piece of crap as a father. I bet Wyatt would never how you're treating Tanner. " I snapped back taking a step so only Tanner's arm was around my waist. The sound of a slap seemed to echo in my head as I felt the sting pain on my left cheek……………………
