.............................. I woke up and walked down ready to leave dressed in my usual Jeans and hoodie. Dad was sitting talking on the phone Jordan was reading the paper and the twins were eating at the table.
“I hope the chiefs paying you good money for a 12 hour stint with his kids” Jordan said handing e an O.J.
“It’s well covered” I nodded Doofus not up yet.
“He left about an hour ago Eli picked him up” Jordan shrugged something about flowers I grinned.
“They’ve not gotten dates for the formal and Wes was asking the color of Libby’s dress and Allie’s”.
“Okay that explains it” he laughed as dad hung up the phone.
“You ready to go” he asked I nodded. “Can you drop the boys off at Eli’s they’re staying overnight considering you’re all going to be out and we’re working”.
“Sure” I nodded finishing my juice “Hey grab you things and get butts in the car” I called out Gage and Jamie ran for the stairs to grab they’re things.
“Okay I’m going to bed before work” Jordan said getting up and heading for his room leaving me with Dad.
“So you’ll be in the restaurant by 6” he said leaning on the table, I nodded. “I can’t wait to see you” he grinned as the twins came down the stairs and hugged Dad, “Be good boys okay”.
‘We will dad” the said at the same time grabbing there snow stuff and heading out of the door.
“See you later” Dad said as I grabbed my jacket and pulled my boots on.
“See you later Dad” I walked out and drove to Eli’s house I recognized Brandon’s car in the drive behind Eli’s truck I pulled up and got out, the twins running for the front door and knocking it, Eli pulled it open he was standing in just sweat bottoms and no shirt.
“Jake Jamie and Gage are here” he yelled calling for his little brother who was a grade above them. “Morning Mallory” he said stepping back so I could step inside Wes waved at me from the kitchen, Eli closed the door “You want to watch some of the game with us”.
“No I can’t I have to get across town” I shrugged handing him the boys bags.
“Oh I forgot you have that babysitting thing don’t you” he said shaking his head “blowing out the guys and a hockey game on the TV for 3 rug rats”.
“Sorry, I need the money” I smiled. “Have a good time at the dance tonight guys I called out as Sean stuck his head round the door frame from the kitchen.
“Hey you’ll know”
“I’ll know what” I said shaking my head.
“Where are the girls going for dinner”.
“I think they said they’d got in at the Great Dane” I said knowing were heading across town to Carmelo’s an Italian restaurant at the foot of the Ski hill with perfect views of the night runs lit up. “Why”.
‘We were going to crash it” Brandon smirked I raised my eyebrows “so don’t go and tell Libby”.
‘I won’t” I said.
“What time was their table for” Eli asked.
“6.45” I nodded he smirked. “I’m out guys enjoy the game and the dance.
“See ya sis” Wes shouted after me, as Eli opened the door I was half way to my car when I was hit on the back by a snowball, I looked round to see Eli standing on the porch laughing.
“We’re even” he said smirking.
“Oh I’ll be getting you back and you won’t be able to get me back” I said nodding at him stopping him laughing I waved as I got in the car and backed down the drive.
I drove to the Chief’s house he was in his garage as I pulled up.
“Hi Mallory” he smiled wiping his greasy hands on his oil stained jacket.
“HI” I smiled getting out and grabbing my bag of stuff from the trunk. “Thank you for going along with this”.
“I’ve already told your Dad he needs to bring in photos so we can see you remember how to be a girl” he laughed as a horn sounded and Libby pulled up “Looks like you ride’s here” he said as I ran down the drive and got ion her car and waved at him.
“You ready” she said grinning like an idiot.
“Oh yeah I got pelted with a Snowball when I dropped the twins off at Eli’s” I sighed as we headed to meet the others at the salon. “Oh and the guys were trying to find out where we’re all having dinner” she looked at me.
“You didn’t tell them did you”
‘Hell no they think we’re going to the Great Dane… sorry they think you guys are going to Great Dane at 6.45”.
“Nice” she laughed “we’ve got the side room at Carmelo’s as well so even if they do go there they won’t see us” she grinned as we pulled up a the salon “same as you’re being got ready in the back room here in case someone sees you” she said as we walked inside all the others were already in different stages of makeup and hair.
“Jeez you’ve got this planned out like a Military maneuver” I said shaking my head.
“Oh yeah thins is going to shut up some of the biggest ego is the whole of East High Allie laughed as her eyelashes were being glued on. “Mind you I wouldn’t say No to a guy in uniform sweeping me off my feet” she added.
“All we’ll get is sports uniforms” one of the other girls piped up.
“Hey don’t forget we have a couple of guys that wear Pizza uniforms” I added as a cape was put rind me and I was dragged into the back room to be pampered……………………………………………….
………………….. By 4.30 we all got back to Libby’s all made up mails done and hair done. Allie sat staring at me.
“Okay you’re making me nervous” I laughed as I took a drink of water.
“I was just thinking and don’t take this totally the wrong way but you’re super pretty” she shrugged I looked at my reflection in the window.
“I guess I didn’t scrub up so bad” I shrugged as Libby walked in her dress I put my fingers in my mouth and whistled her she turned round laughing “
“Okay just you two to get dressed now” Libby smiled, “Come on I’ll help you” she grabbed my hand and pulled me to her room where the dress was hanging up maing me smile. “I have the Black one ready in the bag to go as well so don’t worry”.
“I wasn’t I said as I puleed off my shirt and jeans I wnet in to her bathroom and changed my underwear and came out Libby helped my get the dess on I put on the silver sandals Dumb I know for mid winter but who cares I stood up.
“Wow you have to 5ft 11 in those” she laughed.
“4 inches baby” I laughed “Come on lets go to dinner”………………………………………
