......................... I stood up as Matt hugged B.
“Congratulations guys” I smiled hugging both of them.
“You knew” B said wiping her eyes on her hand I shrugged as Drew came over and hugged her and high fived Matt.
“I had to ask if it was okay to give you the ring” Matt smiled putting his arm round my shoulder B looked from me to Matt and then at the ring. “It was Mom’s engagement ring”,
“Autumn you sure” She said looking at me in shock.
“I’m totally sure” I smiled “And I know Mom would love for you to have it as well”.
Drew caught my hand as everyone else surrounded Matt and B and was congratulating them he handed me his letterman jacket as he led me to the front door he slipped on his coat as we walked on to the front porch.
“You never said about Matt wanting to propose” he smiled.
“We hardly saw each other remember then we had a fight” I laughed putting my arms round him under his jacket and hugging him.
“Oh yeah we need to fight more often if this afternoons make up was anything to go by” he laughed “Anyway here this is part of your Christmas present” he handed me an envelope I pulled it open and pulled out tickets.
“Plane tickets” I said looking at him.
“Yeah leaving the afternoon before New Year’s Eve for 3 nights in Mexico the same hotel we were in last spring break but I got a suite just for the two of us” I smiled looking at the tickets “I wish it could be longer but it’s not possible at the moment you know that”.
“Just one night would have been awesome as long as it’s just the two of us” I sighed putting my arms round his neck and kissing him “Thank you so I take it this is our honeymoon”.
“No this will be a make up one till I get enough of a break to take you somewhere for at least 2 weeks where you don’t need to wear anything other than a Bikini” he smiled kissing me “I love you so much and I love the way you’re standing my me” I shrugged.
“No brainer. I suppose you want your present then now”.
“Depends on what it is if it’s something like what was under your wedding dress the we’d better wait till Mexico” he winked.
“I swear that’s all you think about”
“Getting you naked Hell yes” he smiled running his fingers through my hair.
“Good job I love you” I laughed “Thank you so much for this” I held up the tickets.
“It means you have to fly home with me and come to training camp” he smiled.
“And what are you going to do tackle me” I said as he opened the door.
“No but it’ll be nice to see you watching, you get lost in the crowd on game days” he sighed as we walked inside “And I get to come home after camp”.
“Well that’ll make a nice change”
“So do I get a present now or do I have to wait” I took his hand and pulled him up to the bedroom.
“And I thought we were going to have to wait” he said throwing his jacket on the bed and pulling me against him.
“Okay do you want the present or not” I laughed. He let go of me and sat on the bed I walked over to my purse and pulled out a small gift box.
“You haven’t got me a new wedding band have you” he said looking worried “Because I love the one I have”.
“No why would I” I laughed. “I saw you in the Jeweler’s a week ago” I raised my eye brows.
“I was getting a new battery in my watch” I smiled. “Now before you open it, I have to tell you something” he put the box on his lap and looked at me, “What do you get for a guy who has made everything in my life better and who has just got into the NFL”.
“Naked that’s what” he laughed.
“Drew I’m being serious” I groaned he held up his hands. “I thought because I’m now doing well at work and with everything I have done after Dad died” I looked at the box he picked it up and took of the lid off and pulled out a set of keys and looked at me.
“I have a set of keys to the mustang” he said with a puzzled expression. I shook my head.
“When we get home you’ll have a new truck waiting in the drive”
“You got me a new truck” he stammered.
“I got you a new Truck” I nodded.
“That’s… too… that’s Autumn I don’t know what to say” he looked at me.
“I have more than enough to cover the payments” I smiled “Your truck was getting ready to die on it’s ass” I laughed “And you deserve it” he picked me up and hugged me”.
“I love you” he grinned, “come on lets go down stairs and see what the others are doing” we both went back down the stairs .
“Finally where did you guys go” Matt smiled.
“Drew gave me my Christmas present” I smiled “Sorry won’t be here for New Years we’ll be in Mexico” I grinned.
“Nice one Drew” Leah laughed patting his shoulder.
“See I’m not all bad” he winked. “And I have a bright shiny new truck in the drive at home that needs testing”.
“I hope to god you mean driving wise” Becca groaned.
“Mom that would be telling” Drew laughed.
“Okay we need to do this at the same time” Trent said standing next to Matt “We need Autumn and Drew and Mom and Dad” the four of us sat on the couch.
“Okay you’re the only real family I have left” Matt said holding my hands “No offence to you guys” he looked round at all of the others in the room “you all know what I’m trying to say”
“We understand” Mike smiled parting Matt on the shoulder.
“And Mom and Dad you’re going to be having your first grandkid soon so we” Trent put his arm round Leah as she stepped forward with a box “We we thought you can have your first gift from the baby”.
“Yeah same here only not the grandkid bit” B laughed .”You and Drew both must know you’re going to me the god parents to this kicking machine” we both looked at each other.
“No we didn’t think about it” I said shaking my head.
“Well you are and you can’t get out of it” Matt smiled so here’s your first gift from this baby He handed me a box I looked across at Cassie who looked at me and shrugged.
“Do we need to do this on a count of three or something” Drew laughed.
“No you can take the lids off now though” Leah smiled I held the box as Drew lifted the lid. “Blue balloons floated out Drew reached in the box and pulled out a blue Football and a small Buccaneers jersey with Donovan printed on the back.
“Does this mean I’m getting a little nephew” I said my eyes swimming with tears. Matt nodded.
“He’s even got his Uncles name on the back of his jersey already” Drew said beaming from ear to ear I jumped up and hugged Matt
“That’s so cool” I hugged B “Another good looking guy in the house” she nodded I looked across to Joe and Cassie who had a small construction helmet and boots in blue in their hands.
“Were having a boy as well” Trent grinned, we all hugged each other laughing and crying………………………….
……………………….. “It’s cold out here” Drew said coming out to me on the deck.
“It’s okay I miss the cold sometimes” I sighed he stood behind me and wrapped his arms round me “Wow two little boys coming soon”.
“Yep looks like Uncle Drew had best make the NFL properly so they get a cool thing to brag about in school” he laughed.
“Oh they’ll have their awesome Aunt they can do that about” I smirked.
“You happy baby” he sighed resting his head against my hair.
“Happy doesn’t even begin to cover it” I sighed. “Sometimes I used to want to give up and die but then I got my guardian angel to look after me and love me” I turned to face him “Life is so different now and everything is worth being here for I put my hand on his face, Thank you for believing in me and giving me the reason to keep fighting”.
“I’ll always give you that reason” he said kissing me
“Hey come on hot chocolate and Shrek the halls” Trent said putting his head round the door. “Oh and Autumn now pressure but we just took a vote you and Drew when you have a Baby have to give the family the little girl we can all look out for” I picked up a handful of snow balled it and threw it at him he closed the door quickly laughing I looked at drew he was smiling at me.
“You know I’d love little girl who looked just like her Mom” drew said as we headed back to the door “But we’ll have to keep practicing to get it right”………………………………………………………..
