................ He looked a t me and shook his head I offered him my hands and pulled him up.
“I was talking the contract but if you were thinking body parts, then that’s good by me” he laughed taking my hands and getting up he took a deep breath. “Everything’s going to be so good” he picked me up and spun me round “I’m going to do everything I can to make that roster next season and give you everything you deserve”.
“I don’t need anything I don’t ask for anything” I said holding his face in my hands “I have you that’s everything to me” I kissed him.
“Lets’ go grab something to eat” he said pulling his keys from his pocket.
A little after 8 we got home Everyone was in the back yard grilling as we walked in.
“So did you do it” Mike asked as Drew slid open the door to the pool. Drew nodded.
“You’re now looking at a Tampa Bay Buccaneer” he smiled he got pounced on by everyone that was there I smiled and stepped out of the way Cassie put her arm round my shoulders,
“You look like you need to sleep for a week” she smiled.
“I haven’t slept properly since he got the news of the contract” I shrugged “It’s all mind blowing and the money he’s just been offered for next year if he makes the roster is amazing”. I handed her a slip of paper that Jackson had written down the amount on.
“Well that’s what a top fight athlete will get”.
“It’s crazy” I said shaking my head.
“It means you guys will be set for a long time” she rubbed my arms “and you have your honeymoon somewhere really good” we both started to laugh.
“He mentioned something about that this afternoon” I shrugged “but between now and March he has 6 days off and that’s 3 days for Christmas and 3 for New year” she looked at me and raised her eye brows.
“So were all flying up to Wisconsin on Christmas eve morning till the day after Christmas then he flies back down here and then comes back on New Years Eve morning”.
“Are you staying with us or are you flying back with Drew” she asked.
“I’ll be staying with you guys Drew will be training so there isn’t much else we can do” I shrugged.
“That’ll be fun we’ll keep you smiling” she laughed as Drew came over.
“I think we can safely say they are all happy” he smiled.
“Of course we are” Cassie sighed “Free game tickets” she kissed his cheek and hugged him before she squeezed my hand and walked back to the others.
“I just told here about your changed plans for Christmas” I smiled putting my head on hs chest as he hugged me.
“It’s going to be a bit of a pain in the ass but…” I cut him off.
“We understand” I nodded.
“You want to try to get rid of these guys and go snuggle up in bed” he whispered.
“Oh yeah” I smiled I’ll meet you in there” I winked walking back in to the house……………………………………..
………………….. Things were crazy between Drew trying to fit in his classes and training and Cassie and I had at least 2 parties per week I walked into the house at 11.30 the night before we were supposed to be leaving for the trip north B was sitting in the living room with Matt.
‘Hey sis you’re late”
“I know they wanted more stuff doing” I sighed rubbing the back of my neck “Where’s Drew”.
“He went to bed about an hour ago” B said resting her cup on her belly.
“I haven’t even packed yet” I groaned “Night guys” I walked in to our room and turned on to the bedside light Drew groaned. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to wake you”
“It’s okay I tried your cell 4 times and it went to voice mail each time” he said rubbing his eyes.
“I was so busy I couldn’t answer it” I said pulling off my boots.
“The guys all wanted to go down to the bar tonight and have a blast” he said leaning up on his arm.
“I can’t help having to work especially round holiday times we get busy” I said getting up and grabbing my bag I started to throw things into it.
“I know but it’s one night”
“Okay why are you taking it out on me for not being here I was working like I said not dancing on a table in a club talking to guys”
“No not like when I first met you” he flopped back on the pillows I stood there stunned. He looked at me shocked he’d said it himself.
“Thanks for that love you too” I shook my head “I think I’ll sleep on the couch” I grabbed my pillow from under his head and walked out of the bedroom and slammed the door Matt was putting things in the dishwasher. He looked at me as I put the pillow on the couch.
“What’s wrong”
“Nothing apart from my husband just threw my past in my face” I snapped as the bedroom door opened and Drew came out with the sheet wrapped round his waist.
“Autumn” I held up my hand.
“Not nice Drew Not nice at all” I said turning to look at him.
“Baby I’m sorry, it just slipped out” he said taking a step towards me I stepped back.
“I was always told you never say things you don’t mean you say it because it’s bothering you” I shrugged.
“I had a dream that’s all” he said reaching for my hand I pushed it in to the pocket of my jeans “Don’t sleep on the couch please come to bed.”.
“I suddenly not tired anymore” I shrugged tears stinging my eyes “I think I’ll spend the night at Cassie’s” I picked up my purse from the side and slipped on my sneakers from by the front door and walked out. Drew looked at Matt.
“Dude what did you say” Matt asked walking round the counter and looking out of the front door as I backed out of the driveway……………….
