.................... “Hey Ben we need to do the Guard again as they walk in” Toby said walking over.
“Tess you look good honey” he smiled.
“Thank you so do you it’s nice to see you old guys can still look good in your uniform” I laughed.
“Hey less of the old Missy” he said wagging his finger at me. Ben was laughing.
‘I’ll be back” he winked and walked away with Toby.
I went and found my seat noticing Ben was next to me with Dad and Mom, Dawn and Rylan, Toby and Dannie all on the same table Mom and Dannie and Dawn came over and we waited and watched while the guys marched in and lined up again this time each pair stopped Adam and Chelsea and demanded a kiss we were all laughing and clapping the guys finally got to sit down Ben took off his hat and put it on the table as we all were served with food
“So where were we with the conversation before I got pulled away” he smiled.
“You were asking me what I thought our wedding would be like” I smirked.
“That was it. So how is it going to be” he asked draping his arm over the back of my seat.
“Chaotic” I laughed.
“Chaotic”.
“Yep or haven’t you met my family”
“Oh I see what you mean” he grinned “Come on I know you don’t want one as formal as this from what you said before”. I shrugged.
“I don’t like to think about it in case things don’t work for some reason” I looked at him “especially after the last few months it’s as if we’d be tempting fate” he put his hand over mine.
“I think after what we’ve been through and how well we know each other we can handle anything that’s thrown at us” I smiled at him and nodded.
“Okay I know I want a Marine wedding but with more fun than this” I smiled as we got interrupted for the speeches.
Mom stood up.
“Right I’ve been waiting 20 years to do this and getmy own back on Adam for the things he said at my wedding” Dawn got up and grabbed a gift bag and walked to where Chelsea and Adam were sat and handed Chelsea the bag. “This is an Adam survival kit” Mom smiled as Chelsea opened the bag and pulled out a tube of Preparation H “Okay for starters you’ll really need that because Adam is the biggest pain in the ass we’ve ever met even though we love him to death” The room rippled with laughter Chelsea laughed as Adam shook his head she reached in the bag and pulled out a t-shirt with He’s a Marine but I’m the boss” printed across the front”.
“Thank you” Chelsea laughed.
“You’re welcome” Mom smiled “But Dawn Ry and I also have to say that Adam since we were all little kids going to school just down the street from here, we’ve stayed friends through everything life threw at us. We may live in different states and have lives that have turned the world upside down and inside out we’ve laughed a lot and cried a lot but we always know at the end of the day if we need each other then all we have o do is call” Adam smiled and nodded “obviously a problem when your Deployed and Ry is playing but never a day will go and does go past without us thinking about each other We love you”.
“I love you guys too” Adam said choking up. Dad rubbed Moms arm and winked at her
“And Chelsea I told you in a bathroom in a restaurant a long, long time ago that one day you’d have your own Marine that you’d be proud of” She nodded and looked at Adam “I’m actually going to steal one of my Dad’s favorite toasts if he doesn’t mind Mom looked at Grandpa and he shook his head.
‘Feel free baby” He smiled.
“Today Chelsea you have become one of the elite women in the world” Mom grinned with Aunt Dannie nodding I got goose bumps at this point “We have been given the title of having the toughest Job in the Marines Corps and it’s true so I want everyone in here to stand up and raise your glasses to the women that keep a light on for when their Marines come home, I’ll let the guys say what they have to” She looked round the table at the guys as everyone stood up and raised their glasses as the words. “Ooh rah” were called out by the guys round the table. We all surrounded the dance floor after the speeches were done and everyone was finished eating, as Adam and Chelsea had their first dance Ben stood behind me his arms wrapped round my waist as we watched them dance then Chelsea danced with her Dad I glanced across at My dad Mom was leaning against him her head on his chest, Dad looked up and looked at me and winked I realized one day this would be me dancing with my dad on my wedding day the thought made my stomach do flips.
“You okay baby” Ben sighed in my ear.
‘I’m fine I’m just thinking about things” I smiled turning and kissing him.
“Like what” he asked as the party kicked up a gear and everyone was dancing.
“Just about what song we’d dance to at our wedding” I smirked.
“Okay our first dance has to be I’d come for you” Ben smiled.
“Oh definatly” I laughed as Toby, Dad, Ry and Adam all danced past doing some weird shit.
“What about your dance with your Dad” Ben smirked as the guys came back doing the same weird dance but backwards.
“I don’t know I think I’d ask him to pick as long as it isn’t this song” I laughed we danced and partied the rest of the night away I looked round Ben was talking to Adam and Chelsea I walked over.
“Gunny bear” Adam grinned hugging me and kissing my cheek “thank you for being in the wedding”.
“I wouldn’t have missed it for the world” Ben held out his arm.
“Ma’am do you need an escort to your room” he asked putting on his hat.
“I’d love one” I smiled “Congratulations to both of you and we’ll see you on Monday”.
“Sure” Chelsea smiled.
We said good night to everyone else before we headed for the elevator the doors closed I pulled Ben round to face me and pushed him against the wall of the elevator and kissed him taking him by surprise he soon got with the program pulling me closer to him I moved my head away we were both breathless as the doors opened in one move Ben had me in his arms and carriedme to our room I opened the door he kicked it closed behind us what happened next was like a blur it was like we’d not seen each other in days there was clothing strewn all over the bedroom as he picked me up again his turn pushing me against the wall kissing my neck my legs wrapping round his waist…………………………….
……………………….. We lay panting for breath on top of the bed. I needed a drink but knew there was no way my legs would hold me up at this moment.
“Holy crap” Ben gasped turning his head to look at me “I know were good together but… holy crap” we both started to laugh Ben pulled the covers over us and held me in his arms. “If that’s what seeing me in my Blues does to you then I think I’m going to have to wear it everyday”
“Imagine though this is someone else’s wedding what will our wedding night be like” I smirked.
“I think I’d better start drinking the energy drinks” he smiled “So you think one day you’ll be walking to me on your Dad’s arm in a big white dress”.
“One day yeah I’m sure” I sighed trailing my fingers down his stomach
“Where” Ben asked.
“I don’t know outside somewhere” I said smiling.
“That sound good” he said kissing my neck.
“We need to get over the rest of your training and your first deployment and my college stuff before we even go there” I said drifting off to sleep.
“Sure, we’ll see” he whispered with a smile on his face. “You never know what’s round the corner”………………………….
………………………. Soon we were all on our way back to Lejeune and Ben was packing for heading back to Parris Island for another 6 weeks of training, I was driving us down the night before he was due back to spend the night at Adams the last 10 days had been like a blur with good and bad now we were back to normal life………………………………………………………..
