What's a Marine brat supposed to do !!! (TESS'S STORY PT 1)

.........................................We drove to Ben's house Mac was heading to the hospital to give us some space we got out of my truck Ben closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"Nothing like the smell of a Marine base in the morning" he laughed I grabbed his hand

"I smell better than any Marine base" I grinned he opened the front door and scooped me up in his arms carrying me in to the house and up the stairs "You're going to drop me" I laughed.

"No way you don't weigh that much" he laughed pushing open his bedroom door and dropping me down on the bed pulled him down on top of me and kissed him. "You are right" he sighed "You do smell good" he kissed my neck. "I need to clean up and go in the shower before I get dirty again" he winked getting up.

"You need me to scrub your back"

"I'll be 30 seconds I've got good at quick showers" he walked out of the room,I looked round and noticed most of his things were packed in boxes I stood up and picked up a picture frame for the dresser with our picture in it and smiled. "See I told you I'd be quick" I turned round to see he was wearing just a towel wrapped round his waist I bit my lip he was brown and more ripped than I'd ever seen him.

"Damn what happened to you I didn't think you could get hotter but you did" I sighed walking over to him.

"Yeah well between your Dad"s workouts and the stuff we had to hump round..." I cut him off with a kiss "and I don't want to give Prince Charming a chance to muscle in" he pointed to my shirt before he pulled it off over my head and sighed "I've seen this before in a photo" he laughed running his fingers over the lace on my bra

"Yeah well you know I had a wedding shower" he nodded as he unhooked my bra and slid it off my shoulders" Skye brought me the shirt and..." I pulled off my jeans Ben looked down and started to laugh.

"Yes I slept on the plane" he picked me up again and put me on the bed.............................

...............................I walked in from the bathroom as Ben was pulling on his T-shirt,

"How come most of your things are in boxes" I asked kissing him and bending to pick up my jeans.

"Because I'm going to be living with my wife soon" he said putting his arms round me from behind and kissing my neck. "Come on I need to take you somewhere" I put my jeans on and we walked out and down to my truck he got in the driver's seat.

"Where are we going" I said as we started to head for one of the construction areas on the base where they were building new housing we stopped outside one of the new houses and got out... Ben took my hand and pulled me up the path to the front door he took a set of keys from his pocket and unlocked the door moving out of the way for me to walk in.

"Dad sort of had a hand in helping to get this for us as a kind of early wedding gift" Ben smiled "Welcome to our new home"

"You're kidding" I smirked,

"Nope I told you it was taken care of" he shrugged "It's not very big it's only two bedrooms so we can't go have 10 kids tight away but it's ours Tess".

"This is amazing" I said looking round at the bare room"Where's the bedroom going to be" he walked down a hall off the living room and pushed open a door.

"This is it" he smiled "We can start to move our things in as soon as we want" he said as I put my hand on the waistband of his jeans and smirked at him. "I like you thinking" he said kissing me.........................................

...................... We walked into the living room at Eric and Sami's house it sounded like the party was in full swing already in the back yard.

"Oh you decided to put in an appearance" Toby laughed kissing my cheek. "And we thought you'd wait till your wedding night".

"Uncle T I've waited 10 months there was no way I was going to go without it for another 9 days" I grinned patting his cheek.

"Thanks for that Tess" Adam groaned.

"And if you must know we've just been to our new house" Ben said as Mom hugged him.

"I think we missed that memo" Grandpa Will smiled.

"I helped Ben wrangle one of the new 2 bed houses they've just built" Mac said from by the grill where Eric was cooking "I picked up the keys for him this morning".

"You have to take us over there" Mom said grabbing my hands.

"I will you guys are going to help us move in" I laughed.

"See I told you she'd still need you guys" Dannie smirked Dad started to laugh I looked at them.

"Its okay honey some people are finding it a bit difficult seeing you grown up" Nan smiled putting her arm round me. We sat talking and laughing Ben pulled me onto his lap and wrapped his arms round my waist.

"Happy" he asked.

"Extremely" I nodded as Dad walked over and crouched down by us.

"Okay we'll all be ready and willing by 10am to help you move stuff into your house" he smiled I linked my fingers with his.

"That sounds like a plan" Ben smiled Dad got up and let go of my hand and walked away.

"He's not happy about something" I said getting up and looking at Ben.

"Go talk to him" Ben suggested I nodded and walked down the steps and over the lawn to where Dad was standing with Adam talking.

"Here comes the bride" Adam smiled.

"Can I have a word with Dad on his own" I said

"Sure" Adam kissed my cheek and walked away I turned to look at Dad.

"Okay what's wrong" I asked.

"I'm just trying to handle the fact you're getting married and moving out of home" Dad sighed.

"But I thought you were okay with Ben and me getting married" I said feeling a lump in my throat.

"Oh Baby girl" he smiled "I wouldn't want anyone other than Ben for you he's a good guy and he's turning out to be almost as good of a Marine as I am" he winked "I love you and I love Ben, it's hard letting go of you I've been you got to guy for 19 years and now that honor goes to Ben". I saw tears in his eyes. "You remember writing that thing when you were in 1st grade".

"The one we had to do about your biggest hero" I sniffed he nodded. "I wrote it about you".

"My Biggest Hero is my Dad. My Dad is a marine and his name is Logan"Â Dad recited "My Dad is my hero because he loves me and my brothers even when he's not at home and plays with us and takes us swimming when the bus brings him home. It makes me really sad when he goes away because I don't get to talk to him and I don't get hugs and kisses from him" He closed his eyes "My Dad is my hero because he's my Dad and I love him" I looked round almost everyone was listening Toby had his arm round Mom's shoulders and tears were running down here face "And I'm his little devil pup". Dad opened his eyes and looked at me.

"You remembered it" I stammered.

"I carry it with me and have had it down since your Mom mailed it to me 13 years ago" he sighed.

"I meant every word and still do" I said hugging him "You'll always be my hero I think every little girl wants to grow up and find a guy who treats her as good as her Dad and I found mine" I looked round as Adam nudged Ben. "I love Ben so much and if he loves me half as much as you do then I'll be happy for the rest of my life".

"I know he loves you as much as I love you" Dad said kissing my head "spending the past 10 months sleeping across from my future son-in-law we talked about a lot of things and I got to know him very well, and I hope to god whenever you guys have kids you get a little girl because then you'll both know how I feel and how your Mom feels".

"I love you Dad" I said kissing his cheek "will you dance with me at the wedding".

"To right when your Grandpa and your Mom danced it made me cry so I know I'll cry when I get to dance with you" he said smiling and wiping his eyes "would you mind if I picked the song".

"Sure about time you did something toward the wedding" I teased.

"Oh thanks Tess" he laughed "I love you and by the way we're helping you move in tomorrow and then on Saturday Ben is all ours again" I heard Ben groan from the deck. "We need to take him out before he becomes a married guy" I looked at Ben.

"I have back up Gabe and Justin are coming with me" he laughed. I looked round as the guys all started to mess around with a ball I have to admit I have the most incredible family anyone could ever want ...........................
