I was still in shock over finding out Kataro was my dream boy. Kataro seemed distant this morning at breakfast. I found him sitting on the couch. I sat down beside him holding the black rose with silver thorns he gave me as a promise. I was going to tell him everything. I was going to hold nothing back he needed to know. “Jeremy I want to ask you something. Why didn’t you die when the lava consumed your body?” Kataro turned and looked at me.
“R-Rosella is that y-you?” Kataro was shaking. I nodded. Tears started forming in his eyes as he hugged me. “Rose I thought you died. Look my wish came true. I never stopped potentially being in love with you” I shook my head.
“I thought you did,” tears streamed down my own face as I held onto him tightly. He let go of me. His face was serious now.
“I have something to tell you as well. It’s for your own good so you don’t get hurt. I’m a Werewolf. You know those man wolves from horror movies? They are real. Cameron, Angel, and I are the last of our kind,” Kataro paused and waited for my reaction. I wasn’t angry because I already knew but I was hurt he waited until now to tell me.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” I swallowed my fear and regret because once we were on this road there was no turning back.
“I always tried to but I could never find the right way to tell you,” Kataro looked up at the ceiling.
“Kataro I’ve got something to tell you,” Kataro waved for me to go on. I took a deep breath. “I’m a Hemophage. Well I’m a Vampire. The good kind I never hurt any-“Kataro looked like the whole world had shattered with in those four sentences.
“You’re dead? I’ve been falling for a dead girl? What kind of twisted hellish dream is this? First you say you’re Rosella. Then you say you’re a Vampire? Get real. I can’t have a Vampire living in my house. It doesn’t matter how I feel about it. I just can’t do it,” I felt my heart being smashed into a million pieces. Kataro was quiet so I could defend myself.
"I'm alive…I'm not dead. If you could actually feel my heart and if you actually loved me, like you say you do, you'd know. I thought you knew that." I was hurt. I was positive I was wearing a face that held disbelief and hurt.
“Go. Get out of my house,” Kataro didn’t give me a second look as I picked up my dream journal and walked toward the door.
“I wish you were smarter then this Jeremy. I wish you were the guy I knew from my dreams,” I opened the door and walked outside in the afternoon air. I slammed the front door shut and walked down the steps to the sidewalk. I checked out my surroundings and I saw something that made me stop with fear. There was a yellow punch buggy parked across the street. Before I could gasp I felt arms around my waist and a hand close over my mouth. Whoever was behind me carried me over to the yellow punch buggy and threw me in the back. The last thing I saw was Daniel in the front seat laughing.
