“I am the Princess of Hell. Kataro made a contract with me. He would die to ensure you would be safe. You are safe so he is dead. I am sorry,” she said in a breathy whisper. I looked at her in rage.
“You killed him. How could you? I love him. I am in love with him and you just took him away!” I screamed. The Princess made no sudden motions that let me know she heard me. I laid my head on his chest and cried. I couldn’t save him. I was powerless.
“It isn’t my fault that he was willing to die to keep you safe,” The Princess kept an even tone. I clutched the heart pendant that was around my neck.
“Is there anyway to save him?” I asked. The Princess shook her head.
“I can’t revoke the contract but I can do a trade,” the Princess offered. I racked my brain for ideas.
“Could I trade you my Vampire heritage for his life?” The Princess shook her head.
“If he were here right now that would already be gone. Besides you want to be Human,” The Princess shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know if there is anything you can do,” I walked over to Kataro and stopped. I was having a daydream I tried to focus but I couldn’t. It was me and I was placing the glass pendant that was around my neck onto Kataro’s chest right over his heart. Then everything was clear. I looked to where the Princess was standing but she was gone. I looked out to where the crowd was supposed to be. Daniel and the rest of the Vampires were gone.
I stood over Kataro and kneeled at his side. I fiddle with the clasp of the necklace then took it off. I held it in my hand then ran my fingers over it. It was swirling multicolored blues, purples, and greens. I sighed. “Kataro you better be alright,” I put the necklace over his chest. The pendant burst into a cloud of glitter swallowing Kataro in it. I sucked in a large breath and waited. The glitter cloud cleared away to reveal Kataro was standing up.
“Kataro I thought you were dead!” I cried as I ran over to him and collapsed in his arms. He stroke my hair with his hand.
“I love you Kairi. Man I’ve wanted to say that for a long time,” Kataro hugged me tight.
“I love you too,” I felt a strange tingling sensation wash over me. Then I blacked out.
