I crouch in a dark corner of my room. Hidden away from prying eyes. My skin is already beginning to darken. I cram my hand in my cheap well-worn jeans, searching. My hands dig until-at last, I found it! My hands shake as they withdraw the valued treasure. Headphones untwining, hands trembling, fingers twitching, my fear begins to subside as the words flood my senses. It never matters what kind of music it is as long as it can teleport me somewhere else . Though only temporarily, always temporarily.

I open my eyes to glance at the song title " Icarus" by Mythos. It sounds amazing , like my own upbeat theme song. I picture myself dancing with someone who can take me out of this shithole. He would be brave enough to be my knight in shining armor. The circle of his arms alone would be enough to draw me in and shower me with promises of protection. His hands would play music that showed how much he loved me. His mouth on my own mouth would flow with passion burning a hole in my heart, and my soul. His body hiding my own, would be a barrier against anything that tried to harm us. His words would lead me to a better place. In his eyes I could see his pure ,bright, silver soul. With his- CRACK. A big meaty fist slams down on my head. I blink back the black that almost claims my vision, and look up into my tormentors eyes. In his eyes I see a soul that is empty, black, cold, and hard.
