The paper I held in my hand was wrinkled from touching it so much. All I read were the small words printed for my first class. I was a freshman in college; not exactly the best but I still had trouble with finding things.

Since it was my first day, I figured wearing something nice would do me good. I didn't have much except for some simple dark jeans, small heels, and a loose tan shirt. My bag hung at my hips as I began to walk to the closest building.

I wish I could have stopped myself from tripping. I felt my toe catch on the uneven sidewalk. I stumbled forward to collide with something hard.

"Whoa, you okay, girl?" I looked up into dark eyes, I felt his hands on my waist to steady me. I just nodded as I regained my balance. "Be careful." He just smiled down at me as he handed me back my paper that had dropped from my fingers. He was about to walk away when I called out to him.

"Do you know where the English building is?" He turned slightly the pointed to my left.

"Just over there, around that building." He smiled at me showing me dazzling teeth. I didn't notice it till now; but his skin was a beautiful chocolate color. He wore a white shirt that wasn't tucked in with a bright red tie. Some jeans and red shoes to match his tie. He was seriously attactive but I had to pay attention to my work.

"Oh, thanks." I looked back down at the paper and then looked at the direction he pointed to.

"You a freshman?" He walked back over to me, pushing his bag behind him.

"Yeah, just got here." I admited, letting myself blush.

"Hey, Axis! Come on bro! We are gonna be late!" Two other guys walked over and hooked their arms over his shoulders and pulled him away. Sighing I watched them tow him away, I began my walk over the English building. The only thing running through my mind was his name. Axis.
