Chapter 6

I quietly woke up. I looked around the room and everything was different. I could see things so much clearer now. I could hear noises that I could never hear in a million years. But I heard hush talking.

“She hasn’t woken up yet.” I heard someone say.

“It’s been two days.” another voice said.

“She will be fine.” someone said. I sat up and then fell over.

“Ow,” I said.

“Finally!” Rose said and crashed into me.

“Ow,” I said again.

“Oops.” Rose said and helped me up.

I hope I didn’t hurt her.
“You didn’t hurt me.” I said.
“What?” she asked.
“You said ‘I hope I didn’t hurt her’.”
“No, I said that in my mind!” she said.
“What?” I said. Wait. Was I a vampire? I gulped. No fucking way.
“You can read my mind! That is so cool!” she yelled.
“Calm down Rose!” I heard Damien say.
She really needs to calm down.
I can’t believe she can read my mind! This is so cool!
Ugh. Rose needs a life.
I wonder what Jack is going to say to this.
“Enough with the thinking!” I yelled. “What is going on!?”
“Selene, calm down first.” Damien said and the rest of the family walked in the room. I breathed in and out and then I nodded. “You’re a vampire.” he said.
“Why?” I asked.
“You would of died! We couldn’t of let you die.” Ember said. I stared at them. They looked at me confused.
“What?” I asked.
“Aren’t you thirsty?” Cameron asked.
“Uhh, should I be?” I asked.
“Yes,” Cody said.
“Go get a deer.” I heard Damien whispered and Cameron was gone. He was back in with seconds. He laid the deer in the middle of the floor. I saw it had blood coming out of its mouth.
“And you want me to do what with it?” I asked.
“Drink it.” Rose said.
“Ew, gross.” I said.
Very interesting. I wonder why she doesn’t want it.
“Don’t you feel a itching in your throat?” Damien asked.
“Should I?”
“Yes.” he said.
“Oh,” I said, and then looked around. Everything was so much clearer. I could hear everything. Birds, animals. Everything. It was so weird. I closed my eyes and concentrated. I heard people talking miles away. And the thoughts were crazy! I don’t know how much longer I can take this. I opened up my eyes and everyone was starring at me.
“What?” I asked.
Doesn’t she understand what’s going on?
“No I don’t.” I said.
Selene,
it was Rose’s voice, you need to understand, I slowly nodded my head, you have no evidence that your dad ever hurt you. He could say that, that video was someone else. You can’t prove that, that happened to you since you don’t have any marks anymore. I’m sorry. This is going to be harder.
“No!” I yelled and crumpled to the ground. I went into the fetus position. I felt the tears go down my face. I wiped them off and I realized that it was blood. “What’s happening to me?” I asked confused.
“Your giving off the rest of your blood.” Damien said. I stayed on the ground, but I slowly got up. I stood there.
“Can someone lead me to Jack’s room?” I asked. Rose nodded. Then she took my hand and led me up the stairs. I smelled his scent and I quickly walked into the room. I closed the door as soon as I was in it. I walked over to his couch and laid on it and sobbed. I was hurt. I didn’t know what to think.
I hope she’s going to be ok.
Selene, if your listening. I’m really sorry about what happened.
I started to cry harder and harder. My whole body was shaking. I squeezed my eyes shut, hoping for sleep to come. It didn’t. but then next thing I heard was Rose knocking on the door.
“What?” I asked.
“It’s time for school. Come on. I will help you pick out a outfit, and do your hair and make-up.” she said. I got up off he bed, and opened up the door. She probley saw the blood stained tears.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.
“Don’t be.” I mumbled.
“Here,” she said and took my hand and pulled me across the hall into her room.
She went threw her closet. While I looked at myself in the mirror.
“When is Jack’s trial?” I asked.
“Tomorrow,” she whispered. I felt the tears in my eyes.
It will be ok.
“You don’t know that.” I mumbled.
Yes, I do. You just have to trust us.
“Come on,” she said. She walked into her closet, she cam out with a pair of pants and a black hoddie. I quickly put them on. I then walked out and she was in a pair of sweats and her hair was pulled up. She took my hand and then we walked downstairs. Cameron and Cody were sitting at the table. I looked down.
“Come on.” Rose said and we all walked outside. I looked at the ground and I could see my dried up blood on it. I sighed and then walked into the car. Cameron was driving while Rose, and Cody were in the back.
Selene, everything is going to be ok.
I shook my head.
It will. We have a few tricks up our sleeves.
I smiled.
I knew you would be in a better mood now.
Don’t worry about them.
“I’ll see you later, Selene.” Rose said.
“See ya,” I said, and walked into my class. People were looking at me. They watched me as I sat down, but one of them got the guts and walked up to me.
“Hey,” Kayla said. She was the school whore.
“Uhh, hi.” I said.
“I heard that Jack was in jail.” she said.
“Ok,” I said.
“I also heard that he beat you and threw you in a ditch.” she said. What was she getting at.
“So?”
“I can’t believe your sticking up for him.”
“I can’t believe a whore like you has friends.” I said, I heard people around me laugh.
I’m going to kill that slut!
“Just before you kill me just remember your life would be a living hell.” I said. She looked at me shocked. I smiled. She then got up and walked back to her seat. I laughed inside my head.
What a bitch! I heard someone think.
Am I the only one who relized that Selene looks so hot in those jeans? a hormonal teenager thought.
I gagged inside my head. How gross! The class flew by. The teacher asked me questions but I just told him that I didn’t know. She shook her head every time. But finally the bell rang and I ran out of the room. I walked to my locker getting stares from people. Once I was in my locker I bent down and I felt someone’s hands on my waist. I turned around and smacked them hard across the face. Everyone looked our direction.
“Don’t you dare touch me!” I yelled. He turned around and I realized who it was. Lucifer. I felt my face get pale.
“There you go now come on.” he said and grabbed my arm roughly.
“No!” I yelled and punched him.
“You shouldn’t have done that.” he said and threw me against the lockers. I heard people scream. I saw someone run tword’s me.
“No! Go! Now!” I yelled to them. They looked at me and then ran away.
“Rose!” I yelled.
What’s going on
“Rose!” I yelled again. Lucifer was walked tword’s me again. I quickly stood up. He quickly took me by the throat. I kicked him, but he only smiled. Finally he let go and I fell to the ground.
“You will pay for this!” Lucifer said and then he was gone. I looked around. The halls were deserted. But finally Rose, Cody, and Cameron came up to me.
“What happened?” Cameron asked.
“Lucifer.” I mumbled. “I thought you killed him.”
“No, he got away. We never thought that he would come back.” Cody said.
I closed my eyes and then stood up. I opened them and there were cops in the hallway walking tword’s us.
“Well look who we have here.” one of them said. It was the guy that arrested Jack. I felt anger rush threw me. I shook my head.
“Just do your job.” I said.
What a bitch. Oh well, her dad paid me good money to arrest what’s his face.
“Why were you so mad?” Cody asked me.
“My dad paid the cop to come and arrest Jack. He knew all along what was happening to me.” I said. They looked shocked.
“I should’ve known.” Rose mumbled to herself. I felt the tears filling up in my eyes. I wiped them off.
“It’s fine. He will pay.” Cameron said.
I closed my eyes. I felt the wind pick up as it started to storm. But then I big gust of wind knocked us down.
“What’s going on?!” Rose yelled.
I felt my anger and depression combine.
“Selene! You’ve got to calm down!” Cody yelled getting up and running to me. I couldn’t. I screamed. And then I think I fainted.
I woke up, in a living room. I quickly sat up and looked around. I was in Jack’s house. My head was pounding. I rubbed my temples. I then got up and walked around. I heard hush talking.
“She has to get up. This isn’t normal vampire behavior. We aren’t suppose to faint, we aren’t suppose to sleep.” I supposed Rose said it.
“I don’t know. You said that she got mad and sad and then the weather changed?”
“Yes,” she whispered and then I walked out. They all looked at me.
“Come on,” Rose said and grabbed my arm.
“No,” I said. “I want to know what’s going on with me!” I said and then the rest of the family walked out.
“Selene, we think you got a new power.” Damien said.
“Which is?”
“You can control the weather with your emotions.” he said.
I didn’t say anything. I looked outside and it was cloudy, and raining.
“Are you sad?” Ember asked me.
I nodded.
“It will be ok.”
“Come on!” Rose said. “Let’s go get ready!” she said.
“For?”
“Court,” she said and frowned. The rain started to come down harder.
I felt tears boil in my eyes. The spilled over.
“Come on,” Rose whispered and then grabbed my arm and took me upstairs. She set me at her vanity and started to do my make up. Then she went to her closet. She came out with black dress pants and a grey top. I quickly walked into the bathroom and changed. I didn’t even look at myself. I walked out and Rose was already ready. It rained harder.
“It’s going to be ok.” Rose said.
“You don’t know that.” I mumbled.
“Trust me, I do.” she said and then she took my arm and led me out of the room. We walked outside in the rain and into the cars. We drove in complete silence. When we got there I got angry and the thunder boomed and it lightning. We walked into the courthouse.
And so let the game begin.
I looked at him and glared. He smiled. Cody grabbed my arm to hold me back. My anger just kept getting bigger and bigger. But finally they got me outside. I sighed. They looked at me.? I heard Rose’s thoughts. Kayla thought. Rose said and walked up to me. I nodded and then we walked to my locker. I grabbed my books. he said and then we pulled into the school parking lot. I got out of the car. I saw people starring at me. I looked down at my feet.he said. it was Cameron.she said. I looked in the mirror and my hair was pulled back into a ponytail, my curls were all flowing. She did my bangs so it was hiding half of my face. Then she went to my face. She put on a little eyeliner and then mascara. I stared at her as she did it. She put a little lip gloss on my lips, and then stepped back. she said.that time it was Rose.Ember thought.I heard Damien’s ‘voice’ say. I heard a voice in my head. It was Rose’s.
