Chapter 9
Four months later.
I was just sitting at my desk on my laptop on myspace when it hit me. A wave of nausea ran threw my body. I thought it passed but it didn’t. It just kept getting worse. Once I stood up I felt puke go into my mouth. I quickly ran into the bathroom and puked my guts out.
“Selene?!” I heard Jack’s voice say. I felt him wrap his arms around my waist and hold my hair back. Once I was done I leaned back into Jack.
“What is it?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” I whispered.
“Are you going to be ok?” he asked.
I don’t want to leave her.
“Where are you going?” I asked.
“The family is going out hunting. Rose will stay back with you.” he said.
“Ok,” I said. He gave me a quick kiss on the forehead, and then he was gone. I sighed and then walked back to the computer.
“Selene?” Rose asked as she walked in the room.
I was about to say something but I couldn’t. I quickly ran to the bathroom and puked again.
“Are you ok?!” she asked as she ran into the bathroom with me.
“Come on,” I whispered, and grabbed her hand and pulled her up. We walked to the stairs when she stopped.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“To a drugstore.” I said.
“Uhh, why?” she asked.
I didn’t answer her. I just walked down the stairs. She quickly followed and grabbed my arm and forced me to look at her.
“What’s going on?” she yelled.
“I…” I started.
“You?” she questioned.
“I think I might be pregnant.” I whispered.
All the color left her face. She was 10 times paler than what she was before.
“But you and Jack….haven’t….done anything…right?” she stumbled over her words.
“No we haven’t. that’s why I’m scared.” I said. She looked at me with sad eyes.
“Come on,” she whispered and then we walked out of the house. We quickly got into the car and drove to the store. When we got there we ran inside and started grabbing pregnancy tests. We grabbed at least ten.
We went to the front and paid. The cashier was our age and I remembered her from school. Kara something. I looked at her and she was glaring.
“What?” I asked. She hung out with Kayla. Normal snotty bitch that everyone hates.
“You just had to take him. First you get him in jail and now,” she said.
“What’s that suppose to mean?” I asked harshly.
“Oh nothing, just tell him that I had fun earlier.” I felt the anger go threw me as I pulled back my fist getting ready to hit her.
“No, Selene. She’s just jealous.” Rose said. She put the money on the counter, and I grabbed the bag. I glared at Kara the whole way out of the store. When I broke out into a dry sob.
“He never cheated on you,” Rose whispered.
“How do you know!?”
“I do!”
“He could have done it! I mean serious, I wouldn’t do anything more than kissing. I knew he wanted to go farther but I wouldn’t let him!” I yelled as I got into the driver’s side. I started the car and then drove away. I felt Rose stare at me as I got onto the highway.
“You really think that he would cheat on you?” she asked.
“I…I don’t know.” I whispered.
“I can’t believe you,” she said.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because you think the love of your life cheated on you!” she screamed at me. I stared at her in disbelief. I can’t believe she yelled at me. We pulled up to the house. Everybody was standing outside.
“I don’t want anybody to know about this until I take the tests. So please don’t tell anybody.” I whispered as I turned off the car.
“No problem,” she whispered still red faced. We both got out of the car I put a fake smile on my face and walked up to Jack. He smiled at me and opened his arms open to me.
“Uhh, sorry. I’m still not feeling to good. I’m going to go upstairs and lay down for awhile.” I said. I avoided his eyes, knowing that they would have a hurt look in his eyes.
“You want me to come up with you?” he asked eyeing the bag.
“No thanks, you can stay down here.” I said and looked at him. He was still looking at the bag.
“Can I know what’s in the bag?” he asked looking back at me.
“You’ll find out soon enough,” I said and smiled.
It’s about time they do something. All they do is kiss. Come on. ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!
“Cody!” I snapped.
“Oh shit, you heard that?” he asked.
“Duh!” I yelled.
“Uhh, don’t repeat it.” he said.
“I wasn’t planning on it,” I said. I gave a quick, awkward kiss to Jack and then walked inside. I quickly ran upstairs and into the bathroom. I quickly read the directions and took the test out of the box and went and sat on the toilet. I peed on the stick and it said I had to wait I minute, so I quickly did another one. When I was done with that one, the other one beeped. I breathed in and out but then I looked at it. It said…
