Ava walked into the castle's wall with a rapidly beating heart pointing her eyes down as the boys shot her horrible looks and the girls shot her pitying looks. Inwardly she scolded herself for trying to make her mark on the world, but also prouded herself on it. Walking into the castle and kept her spine straight. She walked towards the nearest servant. "I'm here to train, to become a knight. Where do I go?" I asked.

The servant turned around and instantly turned surprised. "Oh um go to the mess hall, they should be holding a meeting."

Great only her first day and she was already late. She hurried into the mess hall and took the seat right at the back, next to a boy that had brown and hair and even browner hair. She turned and listened to the instructor. "Boy go to the west corridor of the castle, girls, if there is any, go to the east. Classes start at sunrise, servants will come by and wake you, if you're late you're punished. Simple, eat and leave." He said, his voice booming, as soon as he stopped everyone started eating.

"Great all of the east corridor to myself, how boring." I muttered to myself as I started to dig into my pork.

"Not necessairly, there's still the servants," The guy next to me,replied.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"My name's Malcolm by the way, well the servants will be there." He said.

"I meant people my own age." I said glaring at him. He looked at me for a while, I almost fixed my shoulder length blonde hair as my green eyes flickered nervously. I finally looked down and contiued eating.

"You know you're going to quit by tomorrow? Everyone's gunning for you." He said subtly gesturing around us.

"Why aren't you?" I asked curiously.

"With the prince gunning for you, I figured you have enough on your plate, don't get too confident in my friendship Ava I'd rather not have everyone against me." Before she could ask how he knew her name the bell rung. "Bedtime." He said and nodded at her before leaving with the rest of the boys.

Almost in a daze she walked to her own bedroom. She sighed and collapsed onto her bed, seeing all her stuff packed away along with a outift for the next day layed out in front of her, boys trousers and a girls baggy shirt. Along with a chain mail, for the days she would spend in the arena.

First day wasn't so bad after all, the next was bound to be worse.
