Prologue

"Are you sure you don't want to tell him?" My bestfriend Natalie asked. My name is Miranda Giva. I'm currently moving from Chestermere to Calgary. I'm currently in Grade 9 and going into Grade 10 next year.

"Natalie, please your making this too hard. You know I have a crush on Eric, plus he's my best guy friend. It will be too hard. I'm only telling you because I can't bear to lose you. Plus I'm sure he will move on and find another best friend." Eric was my best guy friend. He had black hair and blue yes but still in puberty he was very scrawny.

"Fine." She said stubbornly as she flung her straightbrown hair out of her green eyes. As for myself I had dirty blonde hair with dark brown highlights. With light grey eyes. Even though my eyes seem weird Ihonestly loved them.

"Okay remember yor coming over tomorrow to say umm....you know." I said sadly. I couldn't bear to say it. Goodbye. The word brought tears to my eyes.

"Aww Ana! This isn't going to be goodbye forever."

"I know, but I still can't stand it." I looked at my feet.

"Hey guy's how's it going?" Eric appeared out of nowhere. Noticing my unshed tears he got a worried look on his face. "Ana you okay?" I could not bear this.I hated lying to him, I knew he would never forgive me.

"Umm ya I'm fine. Eric, you are the best friend ever." I said knowing this was the last time I would ever see him. "Oh wow, look at the time!I gotta go!" I said as I rushed away. How lame am I?

"Is she ok?"I heard Eric ask Natalie as I rushed away.

"Ya she's just worried about something." Natalie said. Eric knew Ana was hiding something.

As Ana rushed away she finally let the tears fall. She would never see Eric again. Little did she know how wrong she was.

*************The next day***********************

"Natalie I'm going to miss you so much!" I exclaimed as I hugged her tightly.

"This isn't goodbye don't worry." She said reassuringly.

"I know I will invite you over as soon as we get settled in ok?"

"Totally!" She said all excited now.

"Natalie? could you do me a favour?"

"Tell Eric I'm really sorry and that I will miss him.......and mke sure he doesn't get into trouble, you know how he is." Truth was Eric was shy and gave into pure pressure.

"Don't worry he's my friend too. I'll watch over him too. But you have to promise me one thing." She said as I climbed into the family truck and leaned out the window to hear what she had to say.

"Promise you will tell him one day." She said sincerely.

"Maybe one day Natalie." I said nervously.

"Call me once you get settled in!" She yelled as I drove away.
